Way to Wear: Dungarees - Amy

Topshop Love Hearts Crop Tee, Topshop Stripe Dungarees, Primark Socks, Topshop Aubrey Boots

My absolute most favourite thing to wear in the summer is dungarees! My collection seems to be growing at a steady pace, however, the same pairs come out every year and always manage to wangle themselves into my Autumn/Winter wardrobe too so I am seeing them all as investments.. :)

There is just something about dungarees that makes them so wearable. They are comfortable for one, far more 'decent' than dresses when it comes to summer days in the park (no Marilyn moments!), practical for jobs like mine where I have to carry multiple notes/keys/tools (ha!) and easy to wear, whether its a shirt, crop top, thin knit or even a bikini top on the beach -it all works. If denim dungarees remind you a little too much of your childhood wardrobe, there are loads of tailored versions out there in loads of colours, patterns and lengths so you can find your perfect pair!

I fell in love with this particular pair last summer and fell in love with them even more when my mum told me she had an identical pair when she was younger! With dungarees being as playful a garment as they are, it makes sense to have fun with the outfit so my Love Hearts t-shirt seemed like the perfect match - I am aware I look like an old fashioned bag of sweets and I love it :)

I matched the socks with the colours from the tee, and attempted to add a slightly more grown up element with a heeled boot rather than a flat. I have my eye on some barely-there, white heeled sandals that I think would look amazing with the ankle sock to finish this outfit off! But think the boots make it a very me outfit.

How are you going to wear your dungarees this summer? cos my answer to that is every way possible!

Field Day - Amy

Topshop Premium Beaded Waistcoat, Topshop Premium Embroidered Playsuit, Primark Bag, Topshop Avenger Boots

We're on the brink of the English festival season so what better way to count down the time than to get those all important outfits ready! Even though I'm not sure if white/cream and festivals really mix, it seems to be the hottest festival look for 2013, so who can argue! Mud comes out in the wash right?

This gorgeous playsuit is one of my go-to summer items as it is light enough to wear through hot summer's days but covering enough to carry into the chilly nights which is good for all weekenders and the unpredictable English weather. The beautiful embroidery on the sleeves also gives the perfect detailing without being too fussy.

Because of the sleeves being the focal point of the playsuit, I always wear some form of gilet with it (usually acid wash denim) but couldn't resist wearing this stunning beaded waistcoat that literally sparkles in the sun! The fringing detail is also key for your ore premium festival look.

Tan accessories help outfits continue to feel as summery as possible but I opted for chunky flat black boots rather than sandals for a small ounce of practicality!

Which festivals are you going to this year? have you got your outfits ready yet?!
