The high street has been flooded recently with folk style blouses and embroidered dresses especially at our faves Zara! Cute folk blouses are perfect summer essentials and are great to team with mini and midi skirts for easy day to day wear.

I have had this Kiss The Sky one since last year and still love it, I love the cute little detail and always team it with my favourite patterned skirt from New Look. I added a printed scarf round my neck for a 70s bohemian feel.  The folk trend ticks of the 70s box but also is the perfect transitional trend for Spring and light layering.

Boho is certainly not my signature style but I can't help but love some of the trend's pieces that are coming through at the moment, none more so than the embroidered dress. You've already seen this amazing blue number, but it is this more practical Zara beauty that has been at the forefront of my wardrobe the last few weeks. I love the tassel detailing, subtle stitching and, of course, the button up/shirt style. Most importantly, I just feel sooo comfortable in it, how's that for a mid season confidence boost?! This is certain a must have for spring and right through to summer.

I still haven't quite gone for the full folk feel, so have been mixing on-trend pieces with some of my signature items. Pretty dresses over ripped knee jeans has been my absolute go-to outfit in 2015 and is a really nice way getting these gorgeous frocks into my everyday wardrobe. With the weather finally getting a little warmer, I have been loving this incredible lightweight toppers jacket. It's military influences add another, more modern dimension to the outfit.

How are you wearing your folky dresses this season?

This season I have really got into denim and working it into my everyday wardrobe. The denim dress has been one of the seasons hottest pieces so far and the best thing about it is it's so versatile! It can be dressed up or down and worn in so many different ways, a definite must have!

I wore mine with my favourite denim jacket from Beyond Retro which has gorgeous embroidery detail on the pockets and across the back, it's a great summer jacket to team with pretty dresses. I then layered my fringed scarf from Zara for a nice bit of texture and my gorgeous handmade bag.

How are you wearing denim this season? We would love to see!

If there is anything we can't stop buying this season, it's denim. There is just so many wonderful pieces on the high street ready to be snapped up and even more in vintage/charity shops now that retro is really in. It's the mixture of the two that has really captivated my imagination and inspiration this season with the classic material with 60's and 70's influences being pretty prominent.

Amongst all the amazing denim dresses Topshop have had to offer recently, this zip through number really stood out for me. In brighter blue denim and perfect little collar, it is certainly a strong contender for my favourite dress of SS15. The thing I love about this dress the most though, is it's layering capabilities! We love a good layer over here at camp TSOP and with this mental English weather, it's pretty essential to get the most of your 'Summer' pieces. Seeing as I just loveee collars, I couldn't resist mixing two contrasting ones with a high neck ruffle blouse.

Are you as addicted to denim as we are? Show us your fave SS15 pieces!

Out and About - Thea Porter

Last saturday I spent the day with Beyond Retro & a lovely group of bloggers and we headed to the Thea Porter 'Bohemian Chic' exhibition at the Fashion & Textile Museum. I have been wanting to go since seeing it in Timeout magazine a few months ago and it definitely did not disappoint!

I walked round in awe at the gorgeous shapes and detailing and reading all about Thea Porter & the start / evolution of 'Bohemian Chic'. I am obsessed with 70s and bohemian dressing so found it very interesting and inspiring and I will definitely remember details and pieces when I next go vintage shopping!

The exhibition is only on until May 3rd (in it's final week) so why not treat yourself and check it out this weekend over bank holiday, you can read more and book tickets here!
