Kendal Calling Festival

Buy my Boohoo outfit HERE!

TSOP were lucky enough to be invited to Kendal Calling Festival last weekend with the wonderful Boohoo.com and we had such an amazing weekend! I went with my friend from work Charlotte from Friday until Sunday.
The festival which is located in Penrith in the Lake District was absolutely stunning and surprisingly it was only one 3 hour train from London! We felt like we were on holiday all weekend with the stunning settings, lakes, greenery and cider on tap.... Makes a massive change from London!

We stayed in a cute little hotel in Penrith called Elm House, the room was stunning including a walk in shower and amazing full english breakfast! It made a nice change to camping and got to have a nice hot shower, warm bed and cooked breakfast. Now I understand while people do luxury camping! As much as I love getting muddy and smelly it was nice to have best of both worlds :-)

We were lucky enough to have VIP bands and spent most of our weekend drinking yummy cocktails in the VIP bar and hanging out on the amazing pink Boohoo bus! We met the lovely girls from Boohoo who we're so much fun especially Rosie who works for boohoo & also runs a fantastic blog- www.rosie-glow.co.uk. We also got some Boohoo goodies including a studded transparent clutch, floral garland and sunnies!

The festival vibe was so chilled out and cool and there was so much to do! Random pirate ships, the woodland stage amazing door, Sailor Jerry bar... The list goes on! It was such a good all round festival if you want a weekend full on fun and I found it was just the right size that it didn't take forever to walk everywhere which is always a bonus! On Friday we saw Basement Jaxx who were amazing and on Saturday we saw Ash and discovered a new band called the 'The Thingamubob & The Thingamajigs' who had us in stitches and singing along to songs like 'the sound of the monkey' and 'mr rabbit' we highly recommend to check these guys out!

Lets talk clothes... Both Charlotte and myself have massively brought into the whole festival look this summer and working for Topshop we couldn't get away from it so we thought we might aswell embrace the hippy season! You don't have to tell us twice to rock feather headdresses, floral garlands, lots of texture and prints and general festival amazingness!

I was in love with my outfit on Saturday and I had so many comments and people asking where it was from! I was so proud it was head to toe Boohoo which you can shop my look HERE
I wore the Aztec co-ord but turned the top around so it was open at the front and could wear a crop top underneath, the print is stunning and so right for festivals!  I layered it up with a black fringed kimono and Boohoo leather Gilet which was an amazing piece for the weekend that I could throw over any outfit and look great. Thank god for my Boohoo wellies which saved my life in the Saturday night shower! I loved them as they looked like black chunky studded boots but In welly form, I will definitely be taking these to Bestival in September! A must have for the festival season. Accessorised with black floral head garland which as you can see in my photos they have made a massive comeback for the season and are a must at a festival! Mine was from Boohoo and I haven't took it of my head since! I love that its black flowers as it makes my outfit feel a bit more grungy and dark and not as pretty.
I wore a simple Aztec necklace and crochet bag and added detailing with a fishnet sock and gold bindi for that festival ethnic feel!

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my weekend at Kendal Calling and I hope you enjoyed my outfit as much as I did! Head over to boohoo.com for affordable and amazing pieces including what I wore and be sure to check out Kendal Calling next year for a guaranteed fun weekend!

Amy's Week In Style

Well what an exciting and jazzy week! (and I am not just talking about the wild prints I am lusting after) We've seen the nation come together with pride and joy over the arrival of our future king so I guess the time has come for me to announce that I, like Kate Middleton (just probably not as glamourously) will be having a baby in 2013 :) The blog will continue as normal other than the fact I will just get bigger each week! If anything style wise has changed, it is only that I have developed a dangerous taste for items I couldn't have afforded even before my life changing news - mainly a new obsession with everything Topshop Boutique! Of course I have to think differently as to how I dress, but I'm still young, still very fashion conscious and will always stay true to my own style but am looking forward to this new wardrobe challenge!

Topshop Liquorice Allsorts Sweatshirt and Leggings
Last Autumn, I went through quite a battle with ebay bidding wars to win a knitted liquorice allsorts jumper and it is most definitely my favourite in a 50 strong collection. I also own the Love Hearts crop tee and legging co ord so it makes perfect sense that I am naturally drawn to this wonderful set

Topshop Tapestry Hold All
Me and Naomi are lucky enough to be off to Kendall Calling Festival with the lovely people at boohoo.com this weekend and this bag would be perfect for our trip

Topshop Boutique Silk Floral Dress
You may have seen this stunning print in Naomi's Week In Style and quite rightly neither of us can get enough! In this classic Topshop Boutique style dress (also in black and burgundy, also adore) this dress is the perfect statement on its own on a hot summers day but I cannot wait to start layering this in the colder months.

Minkpink Urban Outfitters Roses and Polka Dot Jumper
You may also have seen this jumper in our review of MinkPinks AW13 collection but I cannot stop thinking about this jumper. We met in the window of UO at Marble Arch and it was definitely love at first sight. Each Autumn that comes around sees my knitwear addiction get worse and worse and seeing as its July and 30oC and all I want is this jumper, I have reason to believe it's started again.

Topshop Gothic Floral Print Dress
This beautiful dress is exactly the same shape as the pink leopard print one from last week and I am glad I've held out as this print is a lot more me. Again, it's the perfect balance between summer and Autumn with all the collar and layering potential I enjoy from a statement dress. This has gone straight to the top of the wishlist!

Summer Blossom - Naomi

Topshop floral dress, H&M sleeveless shirt, Zara Necklace, Vintage Belt, Boohoo Clutch, Vintage Sunnies, Topshop Sandals

Big florals are making a come back for A/W in rich autumnal colours and oversized prints! You don't have to tell us twice to sport big and clashing florals so we decided to try it out but in a summery spin on it!

For this look I wore my Topshop floral dress which I love the shape of! It's so summery and flattering and I always feel super girly in it which I love for summer! I wore a sleeveless shirt underneath to smarten it up and put a different spin on the dress for a sophisticated summery look. I wore my favourite zara necklace which picked out the colours in the dress and a skinny vintage belt.

A simple look but I felt summery and confident in the outfit. I can't wait for A/W where I can full on clashing florals and all the rich colours and layers. How bad is that, I'm longing for winter so I can start layering! After all winter is so more chic!

Summer Blossom - Amy

Topshop Floral Blouse, Topshop Floral Skater Dress, H&M Sunglasses, Topshop Leather Belt, Primark Socks, Topshop Aubrey Cut Out Boots

Florals are perfect all year around, you just need to get your colour palette and textures right! Inspired by a double age spread in this months Vogue, it seems blush pinks and autumnal oranges, rusts and darker greens are this AW's floral friends.

Because floral is one of those trends that never really goes out, it's easy enough to dress up older pieces and stay on trend with minimal spend. Both key items in this outfit are pretty old topshop pieces (I remember buying these when I worked at Westfield which was 2-3 years ago!) but I'd never have thought of layering them together this way until now :)

I stuck with baby pink for accessorising as it was the most summery of the colours to pull out and matching shoes and belt to finish off :)

Def Leopard - Amy

Vintage Oversized Denim Jacket via Rokit, Topshop Geometric Burn Out Blouse, Topshop Leopard Print Sheer Tunic Dress, Primark Sunglasses, Freedom for Topshop Necklace, Boohoo Sandals

Get some rawr! back into your wardrobe, and the best thing is you don't even need to wait for the weather to settle down. Leopard print will always be around, especially in late summer through to Christmas but seems to be taking on a sleeker and sexier feel for AW13, so get Kat Slater out of those fashion police brains.

This dress is a super old topshop one that just seems to never go out of fashion. The buttons and mini collar detail make it perfect for day wear but the sheer material gives it that dressier edge.

I wanted to lighten the outfit up as I usually stick to black with this dress but the white works better than I thought it would! The sunnies, cropped blouse and barely there sandals are just enough flashes of white to keep the outfit looking clean and fresh! Of course, I can never do an outfit too clean so finished off with an oversized denim jacket and darker lip colour

What leopard print gems have you gotten hidden away from past seasons? Get them out and give them the 2013 make over!

Def Leopard - Naomi

Vintage Leopard Beyond Retro Body, Mink Pink Shorts, Topshop Fringe Kimono, Topshop Black Sandal, Primark Black Rucksack, Forever 21 Hat, Zara Jewellery

I love a bit of leopard print just as much as Kat Slater (just kidding!) but I do love it in small doses or in vintage/mixed up prints! Animal prints usually stick around every A/W in one way or another and this year leopard print and pony skin are the animals to take inspiration from!

Nothing beats wrapping up in fur and knitwear and the luxurious layers but at the moment with the temperatures in the high 20s everyday, high summer is still in full swing. I wear alot of bohemian influenced prints and textures and dressing for summer is where you can really experiment with those summery and bright patterns!

Double leopard print on paper shouldn't work but nothing stopped me trying! The leotard is one of my favourites from Beyond Retro and looks amazing with denim shorts and boots. The shorts I have wanted for ages and are Mink Pink from Urban Outfitters- I LOVE the print and fit of them as they are super high waisted and look great with a crop. I love the clashing prints together and the different textures which give the look depth and interest. I wore my fringe kimono over it for a bohemian esq look and perfect for a hot day where I don't need a jacket. Of course accessorised heavily and with a statement bit of bling. The tiger necklace is one of my all time favourites from Zara and the little turquiose one is New Look. I wore my wide brim hat which always finishes of an outfit. I need to stop wearing hats- obsessed much?! Sandals and bare legs for a hot day and sweaty hour of shooting for me and Amy! Finally finished of with my favourite gold round sunnies and black rucksack.

This outfit was so natural for me to pull for the blog and one I felt super confident in. After all this is my area of expertise.. Busy and printed!

How will you be wearing leopard print next season.... Will it bring out the wild side in your style?
