Although the 'sporty' look on the high street is not really very me, there are elements about this massively popular trend that I felt I could twist into my own style. For a start, I have definitely dressed the look up rather than going for the typical causal sporty style and kept the outfit to (mostly!) monochrome for a sleek and grown up feel.
I adore this graffiti-esque grid print dress and although I have mixed it in with a lot of other outfit elements, it is just as gorgeous when worn on its own. The t-shirt style gives it the sporty twist especially when layered over a high neck jersey, which contrasts the silky dress for a perfect mix of texture. This bargain jacket (£6!) also brings the sporty element with the racing stripes and high neck detail
Wearing androgynous socks with barely-there sandals is the other wonderful way of getting that mix of sporty and sleek. I have gone for grid print with this outfit to match the dress and have stuck with silver jewellery so the look doesn't look chavvy!
What do you think of the sporty trend and how would you wear it?
