Tinker Tailor - Naomi

Topshop Leather Pinafore & Sleeveless Blazer, c/o Pretty Little Thing Long Blazer
ASOS Over The Knee Platform Boots, H&M Hat, c/o Boohoo White Clutch

As January approaches it's nice to head in to the new year with a tailored and fresh approach. Tailoring and premium shapes are key as we head into spring (a long way of yet) but with Fashion Week around the corner it's great to get thinking about those premium looks.

I went for a longline printed blazer from Pretty Little Thing to give this look a tailored but interesting spin. I styled up my Topshop leather pinafore dress with Tara Starlet roll neck underneath and threw my white fur stole over my shoulder for a wintry feel. Long over the knee boots have been key for the season and these have been my wardrobe staple. They look great with mini dresses and skirts whilst keeping your legs warm!

How are you tailoring up your January?!

The Runner - Amy

Topshop Fuzzy Square Blazer, Beyond Retro Vintage Jumper, Topshop High Polo Neck Crop Top, American Apparel Acid Wash Runner Shorts, Topshop Aubrey Boots

One of my favourite underrated pieces is definitely the runner short. With it's sporty style appearing in so many different fabrics recently, it's one of the most diverse items you can have in your wardrobe once you've found the perfect pair for you and your style.

I love a good pair of shorts and I love a bit of denim, so the classic acid wash runner shorts from American Apparel were definitely an obvious choice for me. I love the bright wash and even though it took me a while to feel confident in the shape, I know feel myself turning to them for every occasion, from bowling around the house with a baggy tee to nights out in Soho.

For this look, I wanted to show how you can really dress up such a casual piece but have a bit of fun with it too! I bought this amazing jumper in Beyond Retro near Brick Lane for a bargain £12, it doesn't get better than having scotty dogs and roses on one piece of bright knitwear, so this was perfect for the fun element! The shape is flattering and not too baggy (an issue with vintage knitwear sometimes) but but over a sleek high neck collar and tucked in this almost novelty jumper can almost look smart? Smart for me anyway!

Throwing a blazer over most outfits will always smarten the look but the fluid shape of this works perfectly, and conveniently offers you yet another set of clashing prints from me :)

How would you wear a runner short?
