Get Ready With Me (2 Weeks To Go) - Amy

This post is in association with Missguided, wonderful sponsors of the Company Style Blogger Awards 2014

We are incredibly proud/grateful/lucky to have been shortlisted for Best Blogging Duo at this year's Company Style Blogger Awards and with just 2 weeks to go, preparation is already well underway! As it's you, our beautiful readers, who got us here in the first place, we'd like to share our excitement with you are letting you 'Get Ready With Us' in 2 sneak peak posts :)

I am not a beauty and life style blogger and this post definitely shows it! But it's been really nice to do something a bit different. Awards night is going to be my first night out since having Ivy so I am even more excited than usual! Being shortlisted is enough of a reason to celebrate so I will be getting ready with a prosecco in my hand, so let the party begin!

Skin Care
with combination skin and post-pregnancy hormones playing havoc with breakouts, I've been testing loads of new skincare products to make sure I don't have any major zits on the night. My daily skincare routine leading up to the awards has been Soap & Glory's Ultimelt Cleanser followed by Lush's Tea Tree Toner Water and then Soap and Glory's Fab Pore Facial Peel three times a week on top. I have never faked tanned or used a sun bed in my life but as Naomi is sporting her Morroccan tan I want glowing skin too! I have been doing a full body exfoliate twice a week and following up with a Dove gradual tan moisturiser.

Hair Care
when it comes to hair and makeup, I am a pretty low maintenance person. I have a hair appointment booked at Blue Tit, Dalston a couple of days before so I have no split ends and a staight fringe (I usually just cut my own!) but on the night I will just enjoy a usual wash and blow dry. I am completely obsessed with John Frieda's Frizz Ease Styling Spray though, as it tames loose fly aways and gives a sleeker finish to my hair. It rained at last year's awards, so my hair can only look better this year!

Make Up
I will also be following my normal make up routine on the night. I do like simple make up but honestly, I just don't know enough about putting the bloody stuff on and this is not the night to experiment. I have chosen Rimmel's Moisture Renew Lipstick in Latino for the night which is suprisingly subtle for me but the colour matches perfectly with my outfit and can let my dress do the talking. This Rimmel collection is spot on for me as I always have dry lips - I was gifted one at LFW last season and havent looked back since. Other than that, I'll be wearing black liquid liner and might even treat myself to mascara.

Nails
I will be wearing Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Huckleberry (2 coats) and Models Own Jack Frost Glitter (1 coat) on the top to tie in with my clutch. I will be doing this myself but will leave adequate drying time (unlike this tester time round, oops)

Music
the most important bit of getting ready is the music to set the mood! Here are my, quite personal, top 10 playlist must haves:
Yeasayer - O.N.E // New Order - Blue Monday // Clean Bandit - Rather Be // Amerie - One Thing // ACDC - You Shook Me All Night Long // Chaka Khan - Aint Nobody // Rita Ora - I Will Never Let You Down // Artful Dodger - Movin' Too Fast // Hairspray - You Can't Stop The Beat // David Bowie - Let's Dance

Outfit
I like to get ready in something comfy but also something sexy that's going to give me that all important confidence boost! This amazing Missguided coord (top & bottom) fits the bill perfectly :) as for the awards? Well, that would be telling ;) we have some pretty special dresses on route so for now, I'll leave you with some accessories teasers and a hint of Daisy Eau So Fresh

Orange County - Amy

Vintage Denim Jacket via Rokit, Tropical Print Dress c/o Pretty Little Thing, Marks and Spencers White Shirt, La Moda Sunglasses, Boohoo Clutch, New Look Chunky White Sandals

Whenever we get those rare moments where the sun comes (and actually stays) out, I cannot get into my summer wardrobe quick enough! I am enjoying tropical prints so much more than I ever thought I would - it's impossible not to feel happy in the sun and in this dress!

This shift dress is from one of our favourite online retailers Pretty Little Thing and we both loved the tonal tropical print so much we both had to have it! I opted for the t-shirt dress (suprisingly) because of it's sleek and sporty shape and even more suprisingly, styled it with a clean white collar and matching clutch to really dress it up. So it wasn't too dressy though, I went for a boyfriend style, washed out black denim jacket and my chunky white sandals to finish off the outfit

Something that makes me even happier than the shift dress/sun combo is the fact you beautiful people nominated us for the Company Style Blogger Awards 2014 and we are so excited to annouce that we have been shortlisted for Best Blogging Duo or Team! Thank you so much to anyone that has helped us get this far but we still need a little bit more help - If you have a spare minute, could you please click on the image below and vote for us in catergory 4 :) you guys really are the best x

Who's Got Our Vote - Company Blog Awards 2014

With the Company Style Blog Awards nominations well under way, it is clear there are an incredible amount of amazing blogs in the running this year, so we here at TSOP want to share who is getting our votes this year round!

Megan at Pages By Megan

Manchurian fashion student Megan's fashion blog is most definitely the best one we have found in the last few months - and I want everything in her wardrobe (that's if I don't have it already!) Having undergone an amazing transformation from What's New Pussycatt to Pages By Megan, it's hard to believe that she has only been blogging a year or so!

Shope and Shore at Londons Closet

Our favourite blogging duo and a complete inspiration to us! These gorgeous ladies have to be two of the nicest people we have met since we have been blogging! Having won Best Blogging Duo at the 2013 awards, they are going for Best Personal Style this year as they are two for the price of one!

Charlotte at Lurchhound Loves

Another relatively new find for us is Charlotte from Lurchhound Loves. We love her style and her great blog and know you all will to! She is also super nice and has supported us along the way so we are supporting her to!

Lydia at Fashion Influx

We have followed Lydia for a long time now and met her at the Cosmopolitan blog awards end of last year where she won runner up. She is such a lovely girl and has a beautiful blog! Naomi also judged with her at The Grand National a few weeks ago- we are routing for you Lydia!

Lindsey at Ropes Of Holland

Her style is absolutely flawless and after meeting her at LFW it was so nice to finally meet her in person! We love her clean, premium outfits and she always looks gorgeous. Everyone check out her blog, she's a style inspiration!

Geraint at His Name Is Fashion

Working with Gerraint at Topshop we are very happy to include him in this! His blog is very new and so were we when we entered last year and it did amazing things for us. Gerraint has incredible style and we are so pleased he is going for the 'mens blogger' category!

We are going for the 'Best Blogging Duo & Team' category this year so if you feel like we deserve a vote you can vote HERE! Along with our suggestions above :-)

Company Style Blogger Awards 2014

As if it's been a year already? We were totally gobsmacked to be shortlisted for Best Personal Style Newcomer last year, just 2 months after we'd started! But we have come a hell'a long way in a year and would love to get involved in this again

We would really, really love you forever if you could possibly nominate us for Best Blogging Duo or Team by clicking HERE

Thank you so much, not just for now but for all the support you have already shown us!

All our love, Amy and Naomi x
