Black And White Unite - Amy

Topshop Boucle Jacket, Scallop Dress c/o Debenhams, Ray Ban Sunglasses, Bangle c/o Trollbeads, Converse

When it comes to monochrome looks I love nothing more than playing with patterns and textures. This is so easy in the winter with knits, coats and strong white collars to layer with so it's nice to find pieces that work in the warmer months too as I need a monochrome fix atleast once a week!

This Topshop jacket is the same as the navy harrington one I have lived in ever since it arrived so it took no persuading to invest in this boucle beauty too. I love the boxy shape and lightweight feel which works in all weathers with the right layering. It clashes perfectly over this retro dress that I picked up in debenhams a while ago with it's v neck line and scallop hem providing so much added interest to the colourless outfit. I added a casual vibe with my converse for the day but pop on a pair of heeled boots and your night time ready in this combo too!

How do you do black and white in the warm?

Star Spangled Banner - Amy

Topshop Glitter Star Tee, Missguided Sleeveless Blazer, Striped Dress c/o Dorothy Perkins, Ray Ban Sunglasses, Converse

To mark the 4th July this weekend, we thought it'd be nice to get out our stars and stripes! Star print has been a strong look for SS15 with the likes of Tommy Hilfiger setting the trend so there have been some really cute pieces to pick up on the high street recently and after the legalisation of Gay Marriage across the whole country last, why not celebrate our friends across the pond!

I managed to bag this tee for just a tenner in the Topshop sale! I dread to think how long the glitter will last but it looks amazing at the moment none the less! To make the most of the pattern clash, I decided to keep the look to monochrome and broke the stars and stripes up with a simple sleeveless blazer. To give the look a casual vibe, I went for my american favourites, staple Converse to finish off

Have you done anything for the 4th this weekend?

If you follow us on Instagram, you may have seen that a couple of weekend's ago, we were asked by the lovely people at McArthurGlen to get involved with there brand new Denim Icons campaign. We were challenged to pull 3 outfits from the stores in the shopping centre, based around 2 items of denim and boy did we have an amazing time doing it!

McArthurGlen is definitely my sort of shopping destination - it is an outlet, so stock is all quite heavily discounted but unlike Bicester Village (our closest equivalent) the brands are much more 'high street' and in turn, much more up my street. There are high end, high street stores like Hobbs and Jaegar thrown in for good measure right down to your M&S basics offering something for everyone. It is also all indoors, which made the experience even better as it was pouringggg.

When it comes to denim, there is only one brand that is really worth springing to mind and that, of course, is Levi's. We had decided we'd style up the 2 pieces individually and then as a double denim look for our ways-to-wear so the Levi's store seemed the obvious places to start our search! I wanted a classic pair of jeans to style up and fancied Indigo for Autumn and I feel the shirt and jeans combo is the best way to rock double denim. I love the pussy bow detailing on the shirt as something a little different - Easy Peasy.

I wanted to do 3 very different looks with the denim pieces so opted for smart, smart casual and casual. The thing with outlet centres is your never quite sure of what you may find so despite doing atleast 2 rounds of all the shops, French Connection just had exactly what I needed and I ended up picking up this amazing Navy Coat to finish off my double denim look, a top to really dress up my jeans and the cosiest of jumpers to casj up the shirt.

Which of my 3 looks is your favourite? Have you been to a McArthurGlen outlet before? Check out their Denim - The New Icons campaign here to get a little more info and don't forget to show us your own Denim Diary using the hashtag #DenimTheIcons

Adorkable - Amy

H&M Black Blazer, Topshop X Ashish Parlez Vous Anglais? Tee, New Look Shirt, Marks & Spencer Cropped Polka Dot Trousers, Ray Ban Wayfarer c/o Asos, Primark Clutch, Paperchase Filofax, Converse

Even if I don't want to remember how many years it's been since I left school, I can still remember the excitement of a the new school year every September, mainly because I'd have a brand new spanking set of stationery but I did enjoy the enthusiasm I'd have for the fresh start, even if it'd run out by Christmas.

This post, in many ways, is ridiculously ironic - firstly because I actually had a blazer as part of my school uniform and at every given opportunity it was shoved into the bottom of my bag and secondly, if there was any one lesson I hatedddd at school it was french. I am loving all the french slogans around at the moment though and pretty chuffed that this Ashish tee has stood the test of time and is still a firm fave in my wardrobe!

I couldn't resist finishing off the look with my converse, the perfect 'too cool for school' shoe, and this summer's stationery purchase - I guess some things never change.

Metallica - Amy

H&M Black Duster Coat, Iridescent Tee c/o Motel Rocks, Topshop Leopard Print Sheer Dress, Asos Grey Fedora, Freedom For Topshop Skull Necklace, Boohoo White Clutch, Converse Trainers

If there is anything we can all agree on this summer, it's that metallic/holographic/iridescent pieces are hot and just about everywhere - whether it's slinky slip dresses or slip on shoe's, it's definitely the shinier, the better.

I have been o-d'ing on the flashy accessories but this is the first piece of clothing I've got and I'm regretting starting so late! The light, shimmering fabric of this Motel Rocks tee is perfect for these beautifully hot days we've been having and so easy to layer over and under anything and everything.

We wanted to get a casual 90's vibe in with these outfits so I wore the t-shirt over a sheer leopard print dress with roughed up converse. I couldn't resist wearing this amazing duster coat and a fedora to give the look a modern twist but stuck with the grunge influence and finished off with a skull necklace.
