Metallica - Amy

H&M Black Duster Coat, Iridescent Tee c/o Motel Rocks, Topshop Leopard Print Sheer Dress, Asos Grey Fedora, Freedom For Topshop Skull Necklace, Boohoo White Clutch, Converse Trainers

If there is anything we can all agree on this summer, it's that metallic/holographic/iridescent pieces are hot and just about everywhere - whether it's slinky slip dresses or slip on shoe's, it's definitely the shinier, the better.

I have been o-d'ing on the flashy accessories but this is the first piece of clothing I've got and I'm regretting starting so late! The light, shimmering fabric of this Motel Rocks tee is perfect for these beautifully hot days we've been having and so easy to layer over and under anything and everything.

We wanted to get a casual 90's vibe in with these outfits so I wore the t-shirt over a sheer leopard print dress with roughed up converse. I couldn't resist wearing this amazing duster coat and a fedora to give the look a modern twist but stuck with the grunge influence and finished off with a skull necklace.

Close to Mee - Naomi

C/O Mee Mee Red Crazy Print Bomber, Zara Net Vest, American Apparel Leotard, Zara Red Necklace, Topshop Earrings, Vintage Levis Shorts, Choies Cut Out Boots, Primark Rucksack

I don't think you can get more me than this bright aztec bomber jacket by Mee Mee. I love the bright prints and it's perfect for me to rock on a night out and make a statement. The colours and print are stunning and the fit is oversized and long which I love as it makes it feel like a retro bomber.
It's also totally on trend with the recent sports trends influenced by Rita Ora!

I have seen Mee Mee around lot's in magazines and advertised on other blogs and this is one website I am pleased to have stumbled across! The product is unusual, quirky and offer something more than your typical online retailer. I am always looking for something new and fresh that no one has and Mee Mee offers just that, fashionable pieces that don't copy the fashion pack.

When I go out I like to wear it loud and wear it proud! You would think I would team the bomber with something toned down- but then it just wouldn't be me!
I teamed it with my net best which I love for layering over things. I layered it over my American Apparel leotard, the print fitted perfectly with the bomber yet the netting made it more subtle. I also love wearing denim under net to create a grunge and textured feel.

Note the photo of the back of the jacket with net and denim- it's a look full of interest and clever layering. I blinged it up with some gold aztec triangle earrings which went perfectly and my favourite red statement necklace from Zara. The tights make it real as it's so bloody cold for nearly June and of course my Choies cut out boots which are my best friend on a night out.. Come to think, of it all the time!

Whatever you are doing this bank holiday weekend do it in style and visit http://www.meemee.com/
and fall in love just like I did!

Happy Bank Holiday All x

Smells Like Teen Spirit- Naomi

Topshop Kate Moss Leather Jacket, Topshop Tiger Vest, Topshop Lace Slip, Topman Checked Shirt, Ebay Beanie, Primark Fishnet Socks, Topshop Adonis Boots

I heard something very exciting this week in the fashion world.... Grunge is back with a bang! Every girl loves the excuse to be casual and with the 90s influence prominent this look is always making a come back in one way or another. You will all pleased to hear that you can all rock your favourite trainers and ripped denim this summer and still be on trend.

Think motifs, leather, denim, summer knitwear, checks, cut out chunky boots and a beanie- layer it all up for a super cool out of bed look. This is a look we can all achieve with pieces from our wardrobes and without spending an arm and a leg. Add the little details like a checked shirt round the waist or layered under a leather (raid your boyfriends wardrobe!) and for that ultra cool summer feel throw on your sunnies!

In this look I went for Clever layering. I have been wanting to wear this lace slip for a while now and when I pulled this outfit it felt so right for grunge. I layered my vintage ripped denim shorts underneath which I love the fact you can see the fraying through the lace. The softness of the lace against the hardness of the ripped denim is exactly what makes this look 'Naomi's way to wear grunge' A really old Topshop motif tiger vest which looks great under a leather (I'm sure you all have similar motifs!) and finished of with a checked shirt round the waist. Don't forget the little details- the fishnet socks add detail to my feet and look great with cut out boots and a black small beanie all brought cheaply from Primark and Ebay! So go ahead and embrace you inner 90's child this summer and send your wardrobe to grunge rehab!

Smells Like Teen Spirit - Amy

Primark PU Jacket, Topshop Check Shirt, Topshop Mickey Tee, Topshop Floral Bodycon Dress, Topshop Eagle Necklace, Vintage Tartan Scarf, Topshop Check Socks, Topshop Aubrey Boots, Barry M Lipstick

Who doesn't love 90's Drew Barrymore? This total icon seems to be the leading reference to the 90's grunge revival that's happening at the moment and I definitely have no problem with that, she was an still is a total babe

Even though this outfit isn't what you'd jump to thinking of if you said the word grunge, some of the pieces give the genre a polite nod in a less obvious, and more feminine way.

You can't have grunge without a bit of check, so I went all out with the shirt, socks and scarf! 3 items could be a bit much but they are such minor details with the shirt just poking out or around the waist and scarf and socks being accessories rather than focal pieces I think I've just about gotten away with it

Black based florals create a girly, but not too girly, grungey feel and the bodycon shape compliments the oversized crop tee to show off a girly figure but still gives the outfit a bit of an edge

I finished off the look with a leather biker -the other staple you must need for a grunge based look, darker lips than usual, a statement necklace and of course, a chunky black heeled boot. To go a bit more down the grunge root, you could rip your tights or add a beanie for a more casual feel but I chose to keep the look quite clean. Clean grunge? Anything is possible.

Whatever your style or music preferences, give your wardrobe a subtle grunge-over this summer! You never know, it may bring out your teenage rebellious side, ad that's always fun :)
