Jean Genie - Amy

Primark PU Biker Jacket, Topshop Leaf Print Shirt, Topshop Acid Wash Mom Jeans, Primark Spike Necklace, Topshop Belt, Topshop Amelie Boots

I have always struggled with wearing jeans. It wasn't until I actually started working for Topshop as a Denim Specialist that I even took any note of what was going on in the world of jeans as I had given up trying to find a flattering pair on a student budget but as I learnt what was out there and what worked for me and I have finally discovered why denim will always be a woman's wardrobe staple.

I started off as an avid Leigh fan, then last summer made a dramatic move over to the Jamie jean but when Topshop released their new shapes early this SS I couldn't keep my eyes off this pair of Acid Wash Black Mom jeans. Topshop are renowned for doing skinny jeans (and not much else) so it is nice to see they have jumped on the boyfriend jean bandwagon without making them look too boyish, which I have found with other brands. The high waisted shape keeps that feminine feel and they definitely aren't too baggy! With the Levi 501's/90's trend still going strong, it isn't a surprise these are jeans to be seen in this summer.

As always with a black(ish) jean, they literally go with just about everything making them more an investment than anything. I decided to go for a buttoned up shirt and gold and leather based accessories for a clean and dressed up 90's inspired feel but I cannot wait to get wear these with crop tops/jumpers and vans on more chilled out days when I finally get around to having one!

Way To Wear: Nike - Naomi

Topshop Premium White Blazer, Topshop Neon Sporty Dress, Topshop Grey Sweater, Primark Black Clutch, ASOS Sheer White Panel Socks, Nike Metallic Grey & Yellow High Tops

In the past I have always been a 'trainers belong in the gym' kind of girl but as you probably see by my previous blog posts I threw out the rule book and my sanity on moving to London! Now I like to experiment and try new things to see what works for me.

I have had these Nike high tops for around 3 years now and used to get teased in the gym for the eccentric style and pattern (not exactly gym trainers are they!?) Since then I felt like they had a better purpose in life and this outfit proves my point. With my busy lifestyle and being on my feet for 9 hours a day there comes a time when comfort comes into play.

Sports Luxe always makes a comeback, and every year we can clean up our act and strip back from the print overload. See Alexander Wang SS 13 for inspiration. This dress from Topshop is my version of sports luxe- neon and zips make it sporty yet the skater esq skirt and pattern make it girly. I wore it with my white premium blazer to keep it tailored and my grey sweatshirt round my waist for the unpredictable English weather!
Yes I did match the prints on my trainers to my dress (matchy matchy! That's pure luck!)
Dressy up top to get away with the trainer on bottom, I added some white sheer panel socks from ASOS which are perfect for the look and remind me of the sheer panelling on the Alexander Wang collection.

As I'm writing this on the tube I have seen 2 awful cases of black work uniform and formal coat with a bare leg and chunky trainer. Even if your feet are falling off this is NOT acceptable and this is more sports yuck and sports luxe! Sorry guys rant over and back to the point...

Trainers are everywhere in the magazines at the moment in all different prints, colours and styles. I love them worn with a printed trouser or tailored premium jogger and blazer. It's all about getting that balance between casual and chic and feeling 100% confident in your outfit choice! So let's kick back, be on trend and give our feet a rest this summer!

Metallica - Amy

Primark PU Biker Jacket, Topshop Brettan Stripe Tee, Topshop Embroidered Collar Blouse, Topshop Metallic Geomtric Jacquard Pelmet Skirt, Topshop Anchor Boots, Primark Gem Necklace, Barry M Lipstick

I'm not usually one for typical going out product but every so often my inner magpie comes out and I just can't resist something shiny! Though usually more of a Christmas time trend, Metallics are still going strong through spring this season and can bring a bit of sparkle to the dullest of English weather days.

This gorgeous Topshop skirt is definitely an anomaly in my wardrobe and I have been pleasantly surprised at how diverse such a stand out piece has been! I never thought gold could go with so much, especially in keeping with my own style preferences. The geometric pattern gives it another added bit of interest and the luxe texture makes it perfect for any dress up occasion.

With so many dimensions to the skirt, I felt no fear in pairing it with one of the most classic daytime tees you can get, the brettan stripe, without feeling like it was too casual but for that added bit of interest, I added my favourite embroidered collar blouse underneath the tee for another texture on the collar, and the chiffon popping out under the cropped tee.

I always turn to my biker on a night out so this was an obvious choice, and no collar and tee combination is complete without a statement necklace. If I go shiny, I go shiny so this gem necklace from primark seemed perfect and adds a bit of fun to the outfit :)

Metallica - Naomi

Topshop Premium White Blazer, Topshop Freedom Necklace, ASOS Black Top, Topshop Unique Metallic Runner Shorts, Ebay Transparent Clutch, Topshop Aggro Studded Boots

You don't have to tell me twice when it comes to metallic- I might as well be a magpie! If it's shiny, reflective, big, over the top then I'm all over it! Every year we get a premium sports luxe trend which gives us a break from madness and print and allows us to dress clean and tailored and slick everything back.

A mix of sports and metallic was seen on Alexander Wang (see photo below) this season with cut out shapes, premium tailoring and sporty silhouettes. Sheer panels in bodycon pieces are also key which Topshop are all over in their new premium trend 'Modern Knight'

This white blazer is one of my favourite buys it's great for all year round especially now in spring to throw over any outfits. It makes everything look premium and looks great with bright colours. I wore it with my statement Topshop Unique runner shorts... YES they are metallic copper! I love wearing them with a sporty look. Because the shorts are so statement I wore a simple bodycon black top underneath which is lycra. Finished off with a statement geometric necklace and my transparent clutch. A clean look which I put my Naomi spin on it by dressing it up with metallic, necklace and clutch bag.

To buy in to this look buy silky tops in bright neon orange, blazers and runner shorts or mesh panel leggings. To make it more dressy add statement geometric necklaces and a barely there sandal. Oh and don't forget a big oversized clutch. A great look for work, going out for drinks and heading into summer.

Smells Like Teen Spirit- Naomi

Topshop Kate Moss Leather Jacket, Topshop Tiger Vest, Topshop Lace Slip, Topman Checked Shirt, Ebay Beanie, Primark Fishnet Socks, Topshop Adonis Boots

I heard something very exciting this week in the fashion world.... Grunge is back with a bang! Every girl loves the excuse to be casual and with the 90s influence prominent this look is always making a come back in one way or another. You will all pleased to hear that you can all rock your favourite trainers and ripped denim this summer and still be on trend.

Think motifs, leather, denim, summer knitwear, checks, cut out chunky boots and a beanie- layer it all up for a super cool out of bed look. This is a look we can all achieve with pieces from our wardrobes and without spending an arm and a leg. Add the little details like a checked shirt round the waist or layered under a leather (raid your boyfriends wardrobe!) and for that ultra cool summer feel throw on your sunnies!

In this look I went for Clever layering. I have been wanting to wear this lace slip for a while now and when I pulled this outfit it felt so right for grunge. I layered my vintage ripped denim shorts underneath which I love the fact you can see the fraying through the lace. The softness of the lace against the hardness of the ripped denim is exactly what makes this look 'Naomi's way to wear grunge' A really old Topshop motif tiger vest which looks great under a leather (I'm sure you all have similar motifs!) and finished of with a checked shirt round the waist. Don't forget the little details- the fishnet socks add detail to my feet and look great with cut out boots and a black small beanie all brought cheaply from Primark and Ebay! So go ahead and embrace you inner 90's child this summer and send your wardrobe to grunge rehab!

The Clash - Naomi

Rokit Vintage Aztec Shirt, Topshop Aztec Skirt, Zara Necklace, Primark Rucksack, Topshop Aztec Cap, Topshop Black Sandals

Nothing pleases me more than print with print especially when we're talking aztec! With recent safari trends heavily influenced by Kenzo, the high street have gone print mental where the rule 'everything in moderation' goes out the window.

Aztecs are the easiest prints to wear together and make work as the bright colours compliment each other and you can make it look like an accidental clash of amazingness! Add lots of jewellery and a bag to finish of your look.

Here I wore my vintage aztec shirt which thankfully my wonderful Amy convinced me to buy! The skirt is Topshop and definitely too big for me but I bought it anyway because the print is stunning and I couldn't find it anywhere! I love the way the print in the two pieces go so well together but still clashing (accidental amazingness!) I finished the look off with a statement necklace, chunky belt and my rucksack which has my life in it at the moment! Last but not least, I added my favourite thing at the moment.. my aztec hat! Of course, from Topshop - how amazing is it?! I can't wait to rock it in the summer with some sunnies.

Be bright and bold this season! Aztec is in every girls wardrobe so go hunt, pull out all your aztec and experiment with your prints and most of all have fun! Girls, this is one look we certainly wont be wearing at 40 but can we rock it in our 20? HELL YES!

Are you all longing for summer as much as me? I heard we are in for a scorcher this weekend. A perfect excuse to experiment with those favourite summer prints!

East Meets West- Naomi

Topshop Oriental Print Top, Topshop Oriental Pelmet Skirt, Topshop Boutique Floral Maxi Dress, Topshop Neon Floral Necklace, Mac Rebel Lipstick, Nasty Gal Sunglasses, Topshop Black Sandals, Topshop Kate Moss Leather Jacket

This trend is every fashionistas oriental dream! Think clashing prints in silky fabrics, neon statement jewellery, your coolest sunnies and of course a high side pony tail which I am definitely going to be sporting this summer. The trick with the clashing prints is to try and pick out the same colours in each piece or add in a bright statement necklace will bring all the colours together in the outfit. Also for a quick and cheap oriental touch use your old floral silk scarves tied round waist as a sash/belt. Don't be scared to experiment with this trend and have fun with the prints.

I love all the silky fabrics and floaty kimono esq pieces that make this trend feel premium but so cool and fresh for the season. In this weeks magazines there has been lots of oriental references and product coming through on the high street especially Topshop launching 'East Meet West'. Head down to Oxford Circus and look at the window to gather your inspiration for how to wear- I promise you if you go in you won't come out empty handed.. Dangerous!

To tone the the trend down buy into it with an oriental print kimono, a wide leg statement printed trouser and throw on a leather jacket- buy statement pieces in oriental print and mix in with your own wardrobe. Or if your like me and like to go a bit mental wear it all together! Go for really dark lips to finish of the look and a killer shoe. Print and floaty fabrics with an eastern feel are a winner in my eyes and this look and trend makes me very excited for the season ahead... Roll on summer....

Flower Power - Naomi

Nasty Gal Daisy Floral Denim Jacket & Jeans, Primark Pink Sheer Shirt, Topshop Aggro Studded Boots, Topshop Cut Out Sunglasses

So call me crazy but I have decided to rebel against the antarctic weather and put a bit of 'Spring' into my wardrobe. You can't scream 'Summer is coming!' more than in this amazing neon daisy denim co-ord from one of my favourite sites Nasty Gal! I love it as a co-ord but also love the endless amount of possible outfits using the jacket and jeans separately. It was actually in the sale (maybe because it's quite brave!) but when I saw it I knew it was something I needed in my life and to get me out of this cold weather hatred!

For this look I wore the co-ord with a bright pink shirt from Primark- don't get me wrong it looks fabulous with a white shirt but I wanted to really bring out the neon colour in it and make it pop. I certainly got alot of attention walking around central London in this, sharing the love for 'Flower Power' around the city and reminding everyone that it is actually spring! Don't you just adore the Topshop sunnies in the last photo- with cut out frames that go to a point at the top and at just £16 grab them now before they go! HERE

Daisy print is trending all over SS2013 so wear it loud and wear it proud! Whether it be an all over print or in the little details- everyone can introduce it into your wardrobe and adapt it to your look. After all nothing is prettier and more feminine than a daisy! See below for two of my favourite fun daisy pieces of the season and where to buy them.
