Matchmakers - Amy

Topshop Check Coat, Zara Check Dress, H&M Black Roll Neck Top, Topshop Sunglasses, Vintage Bag via Notting Hill Market, Topshop Amelie Boots

Just when I convince myself I do not need any more check or tartan based pieces of clothing, Topshop go and do this to me! I usually refrain from buying statement coats as colours and patterns can lower the versatility which in turn usually means a worse price to wear ratio but I couldn't resist this beauty, and with clashing checks still going strong this Autumn, I haven't had a problem with finding enough outfits to go with it :)

My favourite piece to wear with this coat though is definitely my Zara check dress, with similar colours, textures and ovid shapes, this Celine inspired outfit is a sleeker way of doing mad and matches enough without it being a two piece

With two massive statement pieces, I wanted to use very subtle added extras in outfit. I wore a black, long sleeve roll neck under the dress (for warmth mainly!) but with the circular sunnies to create a real 60's vibe to the outfit and stuck to a little black bag and black heeled boots to finish

Jean Genie - Amy

Primark PU Biker Jacket, Topshop Leaf Print Shirt, Topshop Acid Wash Mom Jeans, Primark Spike Necklace, Topshop Belt, Topshop Amelie Boots

I have always struggled with wearing jeans. It wasn't until I actually started working for Topshop as a Denim Specialist that I even took any note of what was going on in the world of jeans as I had given up trying to find a flattering pair on a student budget but as I learnt what was out there and what worked for me and I have finally discovered why denim will always be a woman's wardrobe staple.

I started off as an avid Leigh fan, then last summer made a dramatic move over to the Jamie jean but when Topshop released their new shapes early this SS I couldn't keep my eyes off this pair of Acid Wash Black Mom jeans. Topshop are renowned for doing skinny jeans (and not much else) so it is nice to see they have jumped on the boyfriend jean bandwagon without making them look too boyish, which I have found with other brands. The high waisted shape keeps that feminine feel and they definitely aren't too baggy! With the Levi 501's/90's trend still going strong, it isn't a surprise these are jeans to be seen in this summer.

As always with a black(ish) jean, they literally go with just about everything making them more an investment than anything. I decided to go for a buttoned up shirt and gold and leather based accessories for a clean and dressed up 90's inspired feel but I cannot wait to get wear these with crop tops/jumpers and vans on more chilled out days when I finally get around to having one!

Two Can Play That Game - Amy

Topshop Banana Leaf Print Tee, Topshop Leaf Print Shorts, H&M Sunglasses, Primark Necklace, Transparent Clutch via Ebay, Topshop Amelie Boots

It has been a long while since I got really, really, reallyyy excited about buying something but this tee and shorts co-ord makes me smile every time I think about the fact I own it, I just love it! The summery print works so well with London's current spell of blue skies and sunshine, it's impossible not to be happy in such an easy to wear outfit :)

Co-ords are big news at the moment - whether it's aztec (watch this space), japanese inspired florals or checks you're after it's out there! and not only are the prints varying, the pieces are too with everything from your jacket and trouser suit to your midi skirt and crop top. The best thing about it, is your wow-factor outfit is already made for you with minimal thought needed but at the same time, as seperates the possibilities are endless! How's that for a bargain?

The tailored shapes in the tee and shorts make this the perfect outfit play with for any occassion as bare-legged with sandals works just as well as with leather jacket and heeled shoe. With any co-ord, you are going to make a statement, especially with a bold print so I have decided to keep my accessorising to a minimum (or just transparent completely) so nothing distracts away from the co-ord itself. Of course I couldn't resist a statement necklace, but when the light catches the gems it can shine a slight greeny colour in there so works perfectly to add a bit of extra sparkle to the outfit.
