The 2nd item we were asked to style up to my delight was the 'Maxi Skirt' I am a huge maxi skirt fan and found this no problem to do! We chose gorgeous satin floaty ones in pastel shades and I went for the pale blue one. I love the way it moves when you walk, they always make you feel super feminine and they are great for day wear over summer!

I wanted to dress the skirt up so teamed it with a black sheer floral top and floral blazer both from Dorothy Perkins. The necklace picked out the blue in the skirt perfectly and added a bit of glitz to the outfit. This is a perfect transitional outfit for spring for a lunch date with friends and I will definitely be wearing it lots over the next season!

Maxi skirts are always my godsend over summer as I just don't like showing of my legs unless on holiday so these are perfect for work and can be dressed up or down. I always go for a printed one but found this satin blue one a really nice one to dress up and on trend with the SS14 pastel shade. Dorothy Perkins have a great range of maxis and SS14 product so make sure you head to their site to check it all out!

We hope you have enjoyed our Dorothy Perkins collaboration as much as we enjoyed doing it, we were lucky enough to work with our favourite photographer and ultimate babe on this project- Holly McGlynn who really captured the essence of TSOP and our friendship through these photos- THANK YOU! Stay tuned for Amy's Part 2 post coming tomorrow night!

  4. Love how you both styled the maxi. I love maxi skirts but always struggle to style them. My mind just goes blank but these are some nice ways to wear the maxi and the great thing is as you said, can be dressed up or down.

I love how Amy added a leather jacket to toughen up the look and you added a sheer top and floral blazer to show the feminine yet edgy style. I will definitely check out DP for the skirts. I find their quality very good and lasts ages.

I mentioned in my previous comment as well that Holly does a beautiful job in capturing those beautify moments. You both look so relaxed and full of fun.
