2014: The Best Of - Amy

It's always nice to reflect on a year gone by, though I still can't believe that 2014's drawing to a close. The year has whizzed by in a whirlwind of emotions for me and I have never been so grateful to have Two Shoes, One Pair. Blogging has allowed me to stay connected to something I love more than anything, fashion, and something I love even more, Naomi. We have been blessed with so many amazing opportunities this year, have met more incredible people and most importantly we are ready to make 2015 even more exciting for ourselves - bring it onnnn!

One of my favourite trends of 2014 has been casual tailoring, even more so when it's monochrome. Looking clean cut and comfy has got to be outfit perfection hasn't it? and is pretty simple too.  This has turned into a go-to outfit the last few weeks for lunch dates and days out shopping.

A simple white shirt is the perfect way to start this look as it looks so good with simply skinny jeans or a patterened cigarette trouser for something more interesting. Is it me or does houndstooth just never go out of fashion? I love this classic black and white print and these trousers have served me veryyy well this season. The pattern adds the exact amount of interest needed in a simple monochromatic outfit.

A mensy blazer is good for layering up or a structed boyfriend coat for when it's a little nippier. I love the androgynous finishes to the tailored trend and I had been eye-ing this blazer up on Lizzy for so long, I finally gave in when Glamour gave me a 25% off code and I'm so pleased I did, it fits like a dream! To make the look more day-time friendly I had to go for a trainer and my b+w vans were spot on.

The 2nd part of this lookbook is a lot more dressed down and perfect for daytime festival vibes! Kimonos and detailed waistcoats are the perfect layering pieces for festivals and look great teamed over dresses and playsuits! Head to bank fashion for some amazing festival pieces with some of my favourite brands 'Kiss The Sky' and 'Ribbon' which is where my first outfit is from. An oversized dress and kimono are perfect festival pieces and look great with black boots and layered necklaces. The 2nd look is fun and playful with the floral glasses. I love floral playsuit with the cut out front and know it will be a great festival piece for Glastonbury! Keep accessories bright and statement to work alongside the great patterns and details in your festival get up! Festival season is nearly upon us and I for one as always am ridiculously excited! I was lucky enough to get Glastonbury tickets so outfit preparation has already started which I thought it would be great to do as a 2 part lookbook for you guys!

Festival outfits for me are all about pattern, details, accessories and colour. Being clever with layering to allow your outfit to cater to all English weather come rain or shine! Don't be scared to go sparkly or a little bit OTT and experiment with your style. Look to coachella street style photos for inspiration especially at Vanessa Hudgens and Kate Bosworth for how to do festival chic!

I like wearing maxi dresses and skirts at festivals as they are comfy and a great alternative to shorts! I feel much more comfortable in them and absolutely love my black one from Bank Fashion. The matching floral set from in love with fashion is also perfect for a more dressed up festival look and can be worn separate or together! Florals always look great mismatched or teamed with floral crowns for the ultimate festival look.
