Sweet Tooth - Naomi

Primark Houndstooth Scarf, Black Pinafore Dress, Military Waistcoat, White Blouse
c/o Boohoo White Clutch Bag
H&M Black Boots

Houndstooth is a big print for the season and was featured as a 'must have' by Vogue for AW15. It can be injected into your wardrobe in a big way or small. Opt for a statement over sized houndstooth coat or subtly with a bag or scarf, see Miu Miu AW15 for style inspiration.

For this look we have gone for a clean monochrome ensemble which is a fresh look for AW15 and a nice change from my usual 70s bright prints. Houndstooth always looks great clashing with other prints and with pops of colour and great for all occasions.

How are you investing into the trend?

Sweet Tooth - Amy

Topshop Boutique Leather Jacket, Topshop Stripe Jumper, Topshop Dogtooth Skirt, Rodnik Snoopy Bag c/o Urban Outfitters, Clarks Chinaberry Boots

If there is one print that has got me hooked this season it's houndstooth, I cannot get enough of the stuff! With it's retro feel and ability to work with the rest of my wardrobe, I am constantly finding myself in a jumper/dress/trouser/anything I can get my mitts on to get that monochromatic insterest into my ootd!

When it comes to pure black and white, I always love to play with prints and texture and that's exactl how this outfit has come about. Stripes are always an essential, even more so than the houndstooth! so it's fab when you can get them to work together. Finished off with lots of leather makes this cool AND cosy with minimal monochrome effort

One of my favourite trends of 2014 has been casual tailoring, even more so when it's monochrome. Looking clean cut and comfy has got to be outfit perfection hasn't it? and is pretty simple too.  This has turned into a go-to outfit the last few weeks for lunch dates and days out shopping.

A simple white shirt is the perfect way to start this look as it looks so good with simply skinny jeans or a patterened cigarette trouser for something more interesting. Is it me or does houndstooth just never go out of fashion? I love this classic black and white print and these trousers have served me veryyy well this season. The pattern adds the exact amount of interest needed in a simple monochromatic outfit.

A mensy blazer is good for layering up or a structed boyfriend coat for when it's a little nippier. I love the androgynous finishes to the tailored trend and I had been eye-ing this blazer up on Lizzy for so long, I finally gave in when Glamour gave me a 25% off code and I'm so pleased I did, it fits like a dream! To make the look more day-time friendly I had to go for a trainer and my b+w vans were spot on.

What's been your fave trend from 2014? I can't wait to see what next year brings!

What's Black & White & Furry All Over? - Amy

Fur Houndstooth Jumper c/o MeeMee, Primark Grey Top, Topshop Houndstooth Trousers, Ray Ban Wayfarer, Oversized Clutch c/o Boohoo, Topshop Magnum Boots

Statement furs are everywhereee at the moment and this year, it's not just coats that are hogging the limelight! With everything from tees to clutches getting a furry make-over the season it's hard to know where to start, or in my case end! the search for winters cosiest pieces.

When we were contacted by old favourite's MeeMee, I fell head over heels in love with this sweater instantly! Faux fur, jumper and houndstooth are indiviually some of my fashion buzzwords so having them all wrapped up in one super package is a dream come true.

I decided to continue the houndstooth theme with this outfit and went for a contrasting mini print on the trousers and broke the two up with a charcoal polo neck jersey which has been an absolute staple in my wardrobe the last few weeks! I finished off with slick black everything else - I told you these magnum boots would feature a lot!

How are you wearing your furry fashion items this winter?

Missmonochrome - Amy

Primark Pu Biker Jacket, Houndstooth Top c/o Missguided, H&M Roll Neck Top, Topshop Gingham Tube Skirt, Fedora c/o Boohoo, Topshop Anchor Cut Out Boots

I seem to be wearing monochrome outfits all the time at the moment, but the lack of colour certainly doesn't mean boring! Just a great excuse to pattern clash :)

Two of the hottest patterns right now are houndstooth and gingham. With both being quite similarly square-ish and monochrome, I made sure there was a little bit more of a contrast between the two so went for a strong, bold and white houndstooth piece and a more subtle and daintier gingham but also broke up the two with a black roll neck top. I finished with all black accessories so the emphasis was all on the two main pieces :)

Amy's Week In Style (36 Weeks)

Today was my second baby shower (spoilt!) - a 'sophisticated' brunch in Henley with all things pink to celebrate the imminent arrival of baby girl, so it made sense to have a wishlist to fit the theme!

Zara Houndstooth Coat
Houndstooth is one of my favourite patterns for AW and to me, the bigger and bolder the better! Favourite pattern in favourite style of coat combined? A gorgeous classic investment yet statement too

Asos Pink Fur Stole
I really want a candy coloured fur stole this winter and the colour and shape of this is perfect

Topshop Boutique Monochrome Sweat
The ever growing boutique wishlist continues - so easy to wear and looks so sleek yet cuddly for the colder months

Topshop Pyjama Style Playsuit
It's been a long time since I've set sights on an item and fallen completely in love with it! I love the colour, the silk detail, the shape.. Just everything. Might have to be a post baby treat!

Topshop Pink Sequin Crop
Holiday season is well and truly approaching - I'd love to say I'd be wearing this out with a high waisted, black PVC pencil skirt and chunky knit cardigan

Cos Sheer Front Dress
A t-shirt dress from cos? It's no surprise this has made it onto my wishlist! But the sheer detailing and pink sneaking through is a more grow up take on my favourite shape

Topshop Mixed Textured Jumper
A little different to your usual winter jumper but equally as versatile!

Topshop Striped Crop Top
It's always good to stock up on basics and the darker stripes make this perfect for layering

Drop Beat Not Bombers - Amy

Topshop Fur Collar Bomber, Topshop Houndstooth Oversized Sweat, Topshop High Neck Crop, H&M Black Bodycon Dress, Topshop Circular Lens Sunglasses, Topshop April Chelsea Boots

Sometimes, it's nice to give those classic trends a really modern feel for that perfect fashion forward outfit and this season, it's all about bringing back the bomber jacket. There's the perfect one around for everyone, whether it's quilted, khaki or the revival of 90s orange lining. I was lucky enough to pick this bomber up in the toppers sale nearly 2 years ago and it still comes out every autumn. The little twist to this is obviously the fur collar which makes this version a lot more feminine than the classic bomber.

I've gone for a monochrome, 60s feel to dress up this quite causal jacket and keeping with the 'modern twist to a classic' theme, I have used my houndstooth Ovid sweat as the statement piece to this outfit. I kept the rest of the outfit as clean and simple as possible using black and white jersey (so not ton take away the textures in the bomber and sweat) and finished off with a simple Chelsea boot to keep the outfit quite casual, but not too casual.
