Pull Cord - Naomi

Vintage Dress & Waistcoat from The Hippie Shake
Beyond Retro Boots & Belt
c/o Free People Hat

Cord is all over the high street at the moment and easy wardrobe update for AW15 that gives a nod to the 70s. From popper front mini skirts and cute little corduroy dresses invest into the trend as you will. I picked up this super cute cord vintage waistcoat recently which gives a slightly unique adaptation on the trend and thought it worked perfectly over a winter printed 70s maxi.

I went full on 70s with this look with my brown platform boots and wide brim hat I love all the brown autumnal colours together with the hint of turquoise.

Have you invested in the cord trend this season? We would love to see how!

Gorgeous Couture Edit - Naomi

Dress c/o Gorgeous Couture, House Of Harlow Clutch c/o Emslie PR, Kat & Bee Ring c/o Emslie PR, H&M Silver Rings

We were asked by Gorgeous Couture to take part their October Blogger Edit which has featured amazing bloggers previously such a Rosie Glow, She Wears Fashion and Arabella Golby! Obviously we jumped at the chance and we were really flattered! The dresses are absolutely stunning and thought it would be nice to do a more dressed up shoot! This fell in line with the Cosmo Blog Awards which Amy wore her stunning pink maxi dress to which you can see in our previous post. The dresses came beautifully wrapped up in a gorgeous box and tissue paper and with a perfect velvet hanger! It was very exciting for us both to open!

Amy described her dress: 'I have never worn anything so elegant and beautiful in my whole life and thanks to this dress, I've never felt more elegant and beautiful as I did in it either! The shape was comfortable and flattering in EVERY way especially around my bump, the colour was spot on for this season and the material felt like a dream! I've never been complimented so much! From massive fashion bloggers to my family back home seeing the snaps, everyone was wowed by this dress.'

They really do make you feel amazing! My dress called 'The Harlow Maxi Dress' has Grecian style draping going on which I thought was just stunning and I can't wait to wear this to a wedding I'm going to in May in Morocco! I wanted to photograph it really slick and all about the showstopper dress so went for a simple blog clutch which is House Of Harlow and went for heavy layered rings including the gorgeous Kat & Bee statement ring with entwined precious stones which is just stunning!

I shot my ombré cape from Topshop with this look aswell as I do love a over the top cape or accessory if I'm going for occasion wear and think it looks great with the shape of the dress. This is how I described the dress-
'The dresses are just stunning- they cling to all the right areas, drape perfectly and give you an inner confidence that I just can't explain'

They definitely tick all the boxes for us at TSOP so if you are looking for a special dress for that special event and want to stand out from the crowd head over the Gorgeous Couture- you won't be disappointed!

Into The Woods - Amy

Maxi Dress c/o Boohoo, Topshop Paisley Lace Roll Neck Crop Top, Topshop Crochet Crop Jumper, Topshop Sunglasses, Freedom For Topshop Eagle Necklace, Vintage Bag via Notting Hill Market, Topshop Amelie Boots

As someone infamous for their rather large collection of short shorts, it's no surprise that I haven't actually worn a maxi dress since my Prom back in 2007. 6 years down the line, I felt the maxi deserved to come into my new, grown up take on fashion and I have not regretted it a single second. Maxi's have always been a favourite with expecting mothers due to the 'cover-all' aspect whilst their bodies are changing but the maxi really flatters everyone, it's just about finding the right shape and pattern to suit your own style.

This monochrome floral number from Boohoo.com seemed like the perfect transitional piece to take me through summer into autumn and the best way to introduce the maxi back into my wardrobe without steering too far away from my own style. The elastic is in the perfect place to flatter my waist and strappy detail means its perfect to wear alone when its warm or to layer up all the way through the cold.

For this look, I have done yet another look inspired by the trend 'Dark Craft' playing on the dark florals as the centre peace and adding other key elements from the trend like the lace roll neck, leather bag and studded boots to finish off :)

Summer Is still here :-) and we are getting the odd day of warm weather, which means the maxi dresses we all love to throw on are still kicking around the front of our wardrobes. Don't be scared to wear them as the weather gets cooler but wear them more layered like Amy and myself have! Wear thin knitwear over the top of them or throw on a leather and boot. Were not the floral, pretty maxi dress kind of girls we tend to opt for the more grungier, darker versions so we thought a monochrome maxi post would fit perfectly on our blog and shows that everyone can wear a maxi! I think everything maxi is great, whether it be a maxi skirt or dress I love that in the warmer weather I don't have to get my legs out yet I can still look summery and feel great... All hale the maxis!

I wore one of my favourite maxi dresses which I actually haven't had chance to wear much since buying it last year, but I feel with the dark, gothic inspired trends for AW it will look great layered up with fur, knitwear and boots. It's part of the Topshop Unique collection from a few years back which I found on eBay. I love the style of it with the high roll neck and long sleeves and the gorgeous woodland print which is so unusual. It's unbelievably flattering and makes me feel like I should be wandering around a enchanted forest! I wore it with my PU gilet from Boohoo which gave it that tough edge but without covering the whole dress - I love that the sleeves still show. The purple hat from Topshop is such a gorgeous colour I feel like it added texture and depth to the outfit. The cross necklaces are all Primark and look great layered up with the different lengths. The boots which are from Deichmann are so unbelievably comfy and look super sexy! I love the studding on the back of them and find them great for running around all day with a manageable heel but still looking on trend. I borrowed Amy's sunnies which are such a fantastic shape and go with every single outfit possible, lastly my studded rucksack from Boohoo which is a fantastic bag- it looks super cool and can fit all my essentials in so I usually don't need to carry my canvas bag with iPad and work stuff in! It finished of this look perfectly and made a dressed up maxi dress look perfect for day wear- it got a grunge makeover.
