Californication - Naomi

Topshop Jamaica Sun Dress, Topshop Freedom Statement Floral Necklace, Primark Green Hair Scarf, H&M Glitter Sunglasses, Vintage Denim Jacket, Topshop Socks, Primark Yellow Wedges

I brought this dress last year for holiday and I have been finding any excuse to get it out my wardrobe! There was no better excuse than the newly updated 50s trends flying around the high street and of course a bit of sunshine which is a rare occasion.

For the ultimate 50s look this summer rock palm, tropical and motel prints, denim, hair scarfs, sunglasses and anything kitsch and bright! The trend is young and playful so don't be scared to explore your inner child and sport the younger prints and brighter colours! This look is great for the hotter english weather but most of all it's perfect for summer holidays when you want to make bolder choices with your outfits.

Buy into the trend in a more simple way with a palm print item and wear it with light denim and tailored blazer for a more toned down and grown up look. Or wear it young with a palm print bikini, bright shirt and denim shorts for a great beach look!

I wore it here with my Topshop Jamaica print sundress which I always love teaming with a hair scarf, sunnies and denim for a 50s inspired look. I accessorised it loud with my bright floral necklace, bright orange socks and yellow wedges. This look is young, playful and I would feel super confident rocking this on holiday!

What trends are you going to wear on your holidays this year?

Way to Wear: Dungarees - Naomi

Beyond Retro Vintage Dungarees, Topshop Freedom Circle Earrings, Vintage Sunglasses, Urban Outfitters Bumbag, Studded Creepers

Since buying these vintage dungarees from Beyond Retro at the start of the year I have realised I was definitely missing out! They are great for all weather and occasions and can be layered in so many different ways. It's always Alexa Chung that inspires me with dungarees- wearing them simple yet so chic.

They are great for work, great for the summer and great for the festival season ahead. There are some things that should just be brought vintage and dungarees are one of them! Stay clear of clean, rolled up hems and cheap denim ones and go for a vintage , worn, frayed and oversized which will look so much cooler and more than likely even cheaper than ones on the High street. Mine were £22!

The tshirt stole from my boyfriend expressed my mood perfectly this week- casual cool. It fits in with my grungy dungarees and casual look. I teamed It with my studded bumbag and circle earrings to make it me and add some interest.

How do you wear your dungarees?
Team them with a vintage shirt, crop top, bikini on holiday or jumper- the possibilities are endless! Share with me your best dungaree looks...
