This post is a competition entry for the Bank Fashion amazing #destinationunknown competition to win tickets for 3 european festivals!
Festival season is nearly upon us and I for one could not be more excited! I'm a bohemian layered queen for 12 months of the year but it's nice when it actually gets round to festival season and everyone is sporting fringing, embellishment and pattern!
I have been to Glastonbury, Kendal calling, bestival and sonar before and I'm already planning Coachella for next year! There is no better atmosphere than a festival with your friends, live music and festival attire! Since getting a Glastonbury ticket a few weeks ago I have fast started planning my outfits (girls you know it takes weeks!) this post will hopefully be inspirational and a little bit of help for you first timers!
For me it's all about pattern and colour and being really experimental with your outfits which I certainly have done in this outfit post! Go for shapes that are comfortable and floaty and accessorise to the max! Layers will ensure you can strip of when the sun it out and wrap up at night and still look festival chic. Go for kimonos and capes to throw on over your maxi dresses and shorts.
For my festival look I went for a vintage maxi dress which is perfect for floating around at festivals. It's super comfy and has a gorgeous print which will stand out from the crowd. I layered it up with a cape, and accessorised with a trusty fedora to hide festival hair, or you may want to opt for a pretty floral crown! Don't be scared to layer up your jewellery and a big statement fringe bag will turn you into a boho babe and carry around your essentials!

I have recently got some of my festival pieces from Bank Fashion and they are incredible! My favourite brand they sell is Ribbon which has gorgeous kimonos and printed dresses! See below for my outfit builds with my Bank items which are perfect for any festival this summer! Shop the Festival collection HERE!
Girls.. I know the selection is huge on the web so I have collated my top 9 festival essentials from previous experience! Grab these and be good to go!
Plastic Mac (Topshop)
a plastic mac will keep you dry and not hide your outfit! Wear pattern underneath which looks great through the plastic!
Floral Crown (Rock N Rose)
Go mad with these! One for everyday and the bigger the better- you will be naked without one!
3- boots - I take wellies as a precaution but usually wear big black boots or tan. They will go with any outfit and look grungy cool.

Kimono (Bank Fashion)
so easy to throw on over anything and look amazing! Will jazz up a tee and shorts or clash with a floral dress they are my ultimate summer piece!
Statement bag (Bank Fashion)
there are some amazing ones about this season! Go for something with lots of detail, embellishment and fringing to look a boho goddess and go for something big to fit in layers and festival essentials.
Maxi dress (Bank Fashion)
If like me you don't like showing of your legs then this is the answer! Throw on with lots of jewellery and a cool bag and be good to go! Go for patten and colour but be careful in the rain if it drapes on the floor!
Sunnies (Pretty Little Thing)
The only way to hide tired hungover eyes and no one will ever know! Go for cool and fun styles to go with your knockout outfits! I always pack to many but it's good to mix it up!
Co-ord (Bank Fashion)
Co ords will ensure you have multiple wear and outfits from them! Wear them together and then as separate pieces and style them up different and hey presto you have a little festival capsule collection!
Sequins (Topshop)
The perfect way to jazz up festival attire is to throw some glitz and sparkle into the mix! Even as simple as a sequin top or shorts mix it to with denim and leather to look cool and sparkly in the festival sun!
Whatever your festival plans this summer or if you just want to get the festival look I hope this has helped! Happy festival season guys!
