In The Palm Of Your Hand - Naomi

c/o Miss Guided Palm Print Skirt, Primark Sunglasses, c/o Littlewoods Clutch Bag

This season both Amy and myself have really got into palm prints and tropical patterns. Being everywhere on the high street they are so easy to get hold of and nothing screams hot weather and summer more than these wonderful prints!

For this post we went for a more premium and smart way of wearing palm prints but styling the looks up in clean but statement outfits. I went for the clashing palm prints with the shirt and skirt but layered it up with key sports luxe feel pieces. I love the mesh top over the shirt and the monochrome bomber looked great over my shoulders with a sporty edge. I love a bright pop of colour with monochrome looks so felt the yellow clutch gave it that punch. I kept the look clean with a statement pair of heels, mirrored sunnies and a clean ponytail.

I love the fact with palm prints you can be wearing lots of pattern but with a premium clean feel still which is why they are so big this season!

As we've mentioned before, tropical prints are all over the high street at the moment in every shape or form. I've been wearing my shift dresses from this post and this post a fair bit but I wanted to find something a little different.

This monochrome shirt and trouser set are spot on for the undecisive weather we have during the British summer time and suit my current wardrobe perfectly! The contrasting black and white palm tree print is the perfect summer statement, even if you don't want a bright colour palette, and the reversed style of each piece gives a whole new and exciting level to the coord.

For a slight casual twist, I wore this tailored outfit with pool slides and a leather biker which gives it a bit more of a summer vibe.

How are you wearing tropical prints this season?

It’s that funny time of year where we need a light spring cover up for the fluctuating weather. Miss Guided have a fab range of spring light jackets which are perfect for when you need that extra layer to throw over your perfect spring ensembles. Check them out HERE!

Monochrome outfits always look perfect with a statement spring jacket and I went with a sport luxe look with the amazing palm print skirt. I love the organza cropped shirt which I think looked great with my Triangl Bikini underneath for a pop or neon and interest. This shirt has fast become a staple in my wardrobe for day and night. The shoes were a great monochrome addition with the plastic strapping and accessorised with my round sunnies and black clutch bag. The jacket is my perfect spring cover up, its beige trench style makes it easy to throw on over any outfit and look city chic! I loved it with this sports luxe feel outfit, I thought it looked premium yet cool.

Whats your perfect spring cover up?

Palm Springs - Naomi

Topshop Bralet, c/o Boohoo Clutch Bag, H&M Sunnies, Choies Harness
c/o New Look Sandals

Tropical and palm prints are key for SS14 and there are some amazing pieces around the high street! As you know we are huge Bill + Mar fans and I fell head over heels for their gorgeous palm print items from the SS14 collection! The print also comes in a crop top and skirt combo and a shorter dress.. I want it all! I love the rich palm print, I went for the maxi dress as I thought I would wear it the most. The jersey fabric is really nice and soft and I love the oversized t-shirt shape of it.

I accessorised the look quite unusually with a bralet over the dress then my harness belt. I thought it actually worked quite well in and loved my new Chelsea Doll necklace with it to finish it of. The sun was shining was shooting this so went with my black New look sandals, round sunnies and a simple black clutch. Palm prints aren't just for the beach or holiday! Mix some of the prints into your summer wardrobe to look fresh and on trend.

Amy's Week In Style

Even if my first outfit love is mixing textures, quirky patterns come an incredibly close second and SS14 has some treats for us. Here are some of my faves so far!

Topshop Tile Print Cami
I loved all the tile prints during aw12 and its so nice to see they've returned in a more colourful colour palette for this Spring

Topshop Gingham Dress
Gingham is set to be huge this spring and you can already get hold of everything in this monochromatic pattern from tube skirts to skinny jeans. I have already bought into the must A-line skirt but this dress is just too cute to ignore! And it already comes with a collar, bonus for me!

Topshop Spot T-Shirt
Polka dots never really go out do they? But that iconic Burberry Photo from SS14 fashion week has reinvented the bold spot. If you're after an affordable copy of the white and red shirt check out newlook.co.uk but if you want a brighter and more causal take on the trend I'd go with is amazingly sickly sweet tee

Topshop Palm Print Tee
Modern Hawaiian prints also seem to be everywhere this season and look especially good in pyjama style shapes like playsuits and kimonos. This monochrome tee is more up my street through :)

Asos Scallop Handbag
Scallops might not be a pattern as such but I am still loving them as much as ever. This gorgeous mint bag is perfect for a fresh spring look with a girly feel.

Topshop Rug Print Tube Skirt
I can imagine wearing this with a black cropped tee and chunky cardigan this spring - I also feel like I shouldn't love it, but I do!
