Amy's Week In Style

Feels like forever ago since I did one of these but that doesn't mean I haven't been looking! In fact, I've been getting my last bits of shopping in as I have pledged to give up buying clothes for Lent (gulp) - I think 40 days will be the longest I have ever ever gone without buying an item of clothing! Wish me luck, I'm gunna need it

Topshop Tailored Yellow Cute
Yet another block coloured boyfriend coat I need in my life - stocking up on yellow pieces after falling in love with the yellow and butterscotch combo's in the AW14 Unique show

Topshop Fuzzy Grid Pelmet Skirt
And another pelmet skirt, I think I'm getting too set in my ways! But I adore this bright print as its perfect for summer - one bit of sun today and I'm all excited

Zara Stripe Co-ord
This is so simple but so beautiful and fits like a dream! I am in love with the big cuffs on the crop top - watch this space for an incredible shoot featuring this top, I can't wait to show you!

Topshop Heart Print Shoes
I've been looking for a flat pair of every day shoes for a while as I need to ween myself off my chelsea boots for summer and these seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Easy to wear and a little more fun than just plain black

Cath Kidston Ipad Case
My two favourite things - my Ipad and CK. This leather case is such good quality and does it's job, not just a very pretty face

Topshop Rucksack
I am still lusting after this style of rucksack and this suede version from Toppers has stolen my heart

Topshop Crochet Hem Blouse
This cute little top is perfect for spring, especially with folk influenced pieces popping up all over the high street at the moment!

Skirting Board - Amy

New Look Boyfriend Coat, New Look Heart Print Shirt, Topshop Aline Gingham Skirt, Boohoo Polka Dot Boots, Satchel c/o Zatchels

Skirts are huge this season - whether it's the full skirt like Naomi blogged about, tube or wrap over style, they all seem to be must haves! but Topshop's Gingham a-line seems to be the most popular of all and I completely get why and cannot stop wearing it!

Gingham and monochrome seem to be having a bit of a moment so this item couldn't be more on trend for SS but it's also a flattering shape and length and practical as it actually has pockets! I also love the fluffy texture for that extra little bit of interest

I decided to take inspiration from Topshop's feminine but quirky trend, 'Kiss Me Margate', but rather than using pastels I wanted to play up the monochrome trend too. The heart print shirt has been another big hit on the high street but thus New Look version is a fraction of the price of its Burberry original and offers a girly print on a boyish shape - the perfect mix.

Yet another key print for KMM is the polka dot and I happen to be in love with both my satchel and my boots so I couldn't resist adding yet another print but breaking them all up with a solid black boyfriend coat and black tights

Amy's Week In Style

Even if my first outfit love is mixing textures, quirky patterns come an incredibly close second and SS14 has some treats for us. Here are some of my faves so far!

Topshop Tile Print Cami
I loved all the tile prints during aw12 and its so nice to see they've returned in a more colourful colour palette for this Spring

Topshop Gingham Dress
Gingham is set to be huge this spring and you can already get hold of everything in this monochromatic pattern from tube skirts to skinny jeans. I have already bought into the must A-line skirt but this dress is just too cute to ignore! And it already comes with a collar, bonus for me!

Topshop Spot T-Shirt
Polka dots never really go out do they? But that iconic Burberry Photo from SS14 fashion week has reinvented the bold spot. If you're after an affordable copy of the white and red shirt check out newlook.co.uk but if you want a brighter and more causal take on the trend I'd go with is amazingly sickly sweet tee

Topshop Palm Print Tee
Modern Hawaiian prints also seem to be everywhere this season and look especially good in pyjama style shapes like playsuits and kimonos. This monochrome tee is more up my street through :)

Asos Scallop Handbag
Scallops might not be a pattern as such but I am still loving them as much as ever. This gorgeous mint bag is perfect for a fresh spring look with a girly feel.

Topshop Rug Print Tube Skirt
I can imagine wearing this with a black cropped tee and chunky cardigan this spring - I also feel like I shouldn't love it, but I do!

Spot The Difference - Naomi

Beyond Retro Vintage Dress, Topshop Sequin Crop, c/o Boohoo Pearl Sunnies, Sequin Make Up Bag, c/o Deichmann Black Shoes

I thought it was about time I brought one of my favourite vintage pieces out to shoot and couldn't wait when Amy suggested doing a vintage polka dot post! This dress is one of my favourites and I absolutely love the vintage shape, pleats and the way it falls!

Polka dots is arguably one of the most common vintage prints with every vintage fanatic owning something spotty. I decided to layer my pearl high neck crop top underneath which I think gives it perfect neck detailing and more dressed up than a shirt. Accessories kept to a minimum and all about black and silver. These gorgeous pointy black shoes with silver tip detailing which are from Deichmann and were an absolute dream to wear! Super comfy and great value, perfect for this outfit! My make-up bag which is silver sequins went great for this dressed up look and my Boohoo pearl sunnies make the look fun and consistent!

How do you wear your polka dots?

Vintage Polka Dot Midi Dress c/o Beyond Retro, Vintage Denim Jacket via Rokit, Topshop Embroidered Collar Blouse, Primark Gem Necklace, Topshop Glittery Ankle Socks, Topshop Amelie Boots

I've always liked to have a mixture of high street fashion and vintage staples in my wardrobe and Beyond Retro and Rokit have always been my go-to, affordable, quality guaranteed shops when visiting, and now living in London so imagine my excitement when we were lucky enough to be sent vouchers for Beyond Retro after blogging a vintage mood board for them.

I set off to their bigger, Brick Lane store with a goal in mind - a timeless, everyday and every occasion dress and to my luck (time of year) my choice felt unlimited. I had armfuls to try on but this polka dot number was the one. Being quite a straight shape and a midi length on my 5'7 frame, it fits and flatters perfectly now but will look equally as good oversized when I'm hopefully back to a size 8! Polka dots are always cute but not too fussy making them the perfect print, the monochrome allows it to be suitable for pretty much anything but the shoulders give that really fun vintage feel to the dress.

Due to the clean cut shape of the dress, I decided to go for a floral collar to feminise it even more but kept to the sleek monochrome and just got a small hint of colour in with the necklace and glittery socks. Wearing heels made this feel very grown up so I kept in with the vintage theme and threw my Rokit denim jacket over the top to finish.

Do you love a good vintage find? Or do you prefer to stick to the high street?

Club Tropicana - Amy

Lazy Oaf Fruit Tee, Topshop Scallop Peter Pan Collar Polka Dot Dress, Topshop Sunglasses, Topshop Belt, Vintage Bag via Notting Hill Market, Topshop Pop Socks, Topshop Anchor Boots

There's nothing wrong with taking a little inspiration for your wardrobe from the things around you and one of my favourite things about summer is pigging out on fresh fruit!

This cropped, oversized  tee from Lazy Oaf is bursting with colour and fun, perfect for any hot summers day. I couldn't resist layering over a cute polka dot summers dress to brighten it up a bit but stuck with traditional Amy black leather accessories.

These pop socks are a god send in the summer as they re thin enough to use as a fashion statement with cut out boots in the heat without your feet getting too hot and gross. I chose to pull the yellow out of the tee to keep the outfit extra summery!
