Vintage Polka Dot Midi Dress c/o Beyond Retro, Vintage Denim Jacket via Rokit, Topshop Embroidered Collar Blouse, Primark Gem Necklace, Topshop Glittery Ankle Socks, Topshop Amelie Boots
I've always liked to have a mixture of high street fashion and vintage staples in my wardrobe and Beyond Retro and Rokit have always been my go-to, affordable, quality guaranteed shops when visiting, and now living in London so imagine my excitement when we were lucky enough to be sent vouchers for Beyond Retro after blogging a vintage mood board for them.
I set off to their bigger, Brick Lane store with a goal in mind - a timeless, everyday and every occasion dress and to my luck (time of year) my choice felt unlimited. I had armfuls to try on but this polka dot number was the one. Being quite a straight shape and a midi length on my 5'7 frame, it fits and flatters perfectly now but will look equally as good oversized when I'm hopefully back to a size 8! Polka dots are always cute but not too fussy making them the perfect print, the monochrome allows it to be suitable for pretty much anything but the shoulders give that really fun vintage feel to the dress.
Due to the clean cut shape of the dress, I decided to go for a floral collar to feminise it even more but kept to the sleek monochrome and just got a small hint of colour in with the necklace and glittery socks. Wearing heels made this feel very grown up so I kept in with the vintage theme and threw my Rokit denim jacket over the top to finish.
