Mad World - Amy

Abstract Geo High Neck Dress c/o Motel Rocks, Topshop Contrast Trim Tee, Ray Ban Glasses c/o Red Hot Sunglasses, Daniel Footwear Patent Boots

With the arrival of the Mad Men finale imminent, it seemed the perfect oppotunity to step back into the sixties! The wardrobe department have done a wonderful job throughout all 7 seasons, though it's no secret that we love a bit of retro , and we have been well and truly inspired.

I wanted to do a more modern look with my 60's vibes - the gorgeous Megan summed up our feelings in this post here about being influenced by past decades and her wise words are some to be remembered when styling certain pieces up! I wanted to do a monochrome look (something rarely seen on Mad Men itself) and this Motel Rocks dress was a great starting point with its abstract print and high neck, mini style. To give it it's noughtie twist, I layered it over a contrast trim tee - this seasons must have updated basic and gives the overall look quite casual.

I couldn't not wear these patent boots as a real salute to the post! They add that feminine sex appeal in just the right dose.

Seventies may be the trend of the season but there's no harm in looking back a little further now and again! Are you 60's or 70's? We can't choose!

Welcome To The 60's - Naomi

Look 1 - H&M roll neck, Miss Guided Faux Fur Coat, Miss Guided Floral mini Skirt, Littlewoods Yellow Clutch

Look 2 - Miss Guided Floral Playsuit, Beyond Retro Roll Neck, Boohoo Blazer, Miss Guided Fur Stole, Boohoo Bag, Miss Guided Boots

60s has made a massive come back this season and I couldn't be happier! Statement coats, roll necks, mini skirts and amazing 60s prints take centre stage in our wardrobes.

For the first look I styled up a shaggy fur coat from Miss Guided with a statement mini skirt. Roll neck and 60s glasses with a pop of yellow bag gave it that 60s twist for a perfect day look. For the second I went for this amazing floral 60s print playsuit also from Miss Guided with a white long blazer and faux fur stole for more of a evening 60s look. Whether you just add a simple roll neck under your dresses or invest in a mini skirt and long boots, 60s is such an easy look to adapt into your wardrobe.

Have you guys been influenced by 60s this season?

Welcome To The 60's - Amy

Look 1 - Johnny Coat c/o Another 8, Topshop Jacquard Top, Asos V Neck Dress, Ray Ban Clubmasters c/o Red Hot Sunglasses, Primark Bag, Topshop Belt, Topshop Magnum Boots

Look 2 - Topshop Shearling Coat, Co-ord c/o Missguided (Jumper and Skirt), New Look Shirt, Missguided Sunglasses, Primark Bag, Topshop Magnum Boots

If there is one trend that TSOP have been really inspired by this AW14 it's the urban 60's look. Topshop's Metro and Missguided's Carnaby Girl are two of the best hot spots for this on the high street but modern updates on the 60's vibes can be found everywhere and we couldn't be happier! To get into the mindframe, we thought it'd be nice to use a vintage Nikon SLR for this shoot

Polo and V neck's are 2 of my favourite ways to get the 60's feel so it made sense to pop them together for look 1. This V Neck dress from Asos is so versatile as it can be layered over tees or shirts with tights and boots for the day and then layered over black skinny jeans for a night time look, I can't get enough of it!

For look 2, I wanted a primarily monochrome outfit and this cropped jumper and mini skirt from Missguided was my perfect base. The round collared blouse gives it that tailored twist that makes the look modern but I love the complete contrast of the tan shearling to round off the look quite casually.

How are you swinging into the sixties this season?

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket - Naomi

Primark B&W Clutch
Ebay Sunglasses
Topshop Earrings

The time has come to invest in staple winter coats that will keep us warm and look on point with all your AW outfits. I have been after a good shearling jacket and fell in love with Miss Guided's new collection which include tan, pink and black! Amy styled up the black version in yesterdays post did you see?

I decided to go for a full on 60s vibe for my outfit which is both on trend for AW and looks great with the 60s inspired jacket! I teamed the jacket with a blue cropped roll neck which I absolutely love the shape of. The colour looks great with the monochrome print skirt which has such a cute 60s vibe to it. The weather is so up and down at the moment so I teamed it with my peep toe sandals which I thought worked really well. I kept to the monochrome accessories with the 60s style glasses from Ebay and a B&W clutch from Primark.

How are you styling your jackets up for the season?
