Army of Lovers - Amy

Topshop Premium Trench Coat, Whistles Marble Knit, Vintage Khaki Shirt Dress, Topshop Eagle Necklace, Next Furry Bag, Suedette Boots c/o Pretty Little Thing

This trend is by no means a newbie but it is certainly an old favourite. Military influences add that masculine touch to an outfit that I just love and would like to think is an integral part of my own personal style. I usually associate the colour palettes of this look with AW but I love the fact it's coming through into the new season with added creams and softer camels for a lighter, spring feel.

I fell in love with this amazing coat when the rest of the world did, when it was released in pink a few months ago and I am so happy it was renewed in a more versatile colour way! Trenches are spot on for this look and a lighter jacket option than thick boyfriend coats but can easily be layered up! Another incredible sale find this time around was this Whistles Marble knit and I have been waiting for the perfect moment to showcase it! Over a vintage shirt, which I have worn as a dress here, was the perfect time.

I finished the outfit off with miliarty touches - a spread eagle, a little pouch bag and pointed boots - to get a full on feel of the trend

Best Of January Sales - Amy

I hope you have all had an amazing few days - and if you have braved the shops then I really take my hat off to you! Deep in my food induced coma, I have been scouring the internet for my favourite pieces and for the first time in a longgg time I've actually been impressed with what's on offer. Here are the links to my favourites:

As Naomi rightly said, it's so easy to get sucked into the impulse buying especially if you have been lucky enough to recieve Christmas vouchers so my first point of call when looking for sale items is what's already in my saved lists on Topshop and Asos! Either way, let us know what you find :)

Style Steals: Winter Knits

'Tis the season to be snuggly and there is nothing better during the winter than a good knit. The high street has something offer to literally everyoneee but we wanted to share our favourites with you. Have you bought your Christmas Jumper yet? If you haven't, we bet you will be now!

One of our favourite christmas campaigns is 'Magic and Sparkle' so how fitting that this embellished number made it into our top pics!

Sometimes it's nice just to join in the festive colour palette - this also means you can wear you jumper all year round, not just in Decemeber

We can't resist a cheeky slogan! and love the simple design of this Boohoo jumper

An absolute classic, that will come back year after year

Who else is loving the deep green trend at the moment? Wear with a roll neck jersey and tailored trousers for a super slick work look

When it comes to quality, Topshop Boutique is always the winner. This snow-like fairisle knit is just too cosy

No Christmas is compltet without a bit of tartan

Loving a novelty knit is ok too! After Henry Holland's Mr Men collab we can't get enough of these little characters

Wow everyone with this incredibly glittery Whistles jumper. It comes in two colours, but the navy is our fave!

Cape Town - Amy

H&M Blanket Cape, Whistles Cliche Jumper, Grey Cord Skirt c/o Motel Rocks, Ray Ban Wayfarer, Asos Fur Scarf, Primark Cross-Body Bag, Boots c/o Missguided

Well, incase you've been living under a rock the last month or so, you will probably know this season's 'it' item is the blanket cape. I try not to give 'it' items the time and space in my wardrobe unless I really fall for a piece but this trend is just so huge, we both wanted to show you guys how we would both style this must have.

There are two main styles available on the high street - those similar to the Burberry AW show sported by Cara etc. and tribal/aztec/navajo inspired pieces, like a sort of transitional Kimono. Neither of these really took my fancy (though if someone does fancy getting me an actual Burbs with AJW on that would be great) so my first task was to find a blanket cape a little more me. This plain grey number from H&M seemed spot on. I don't usually go for tassly bits but I actually didn't mind them on this! as it added the perfect bit of interest to the piece and the outfit

Seeing as Autumn is offically here, it only seemed right to layer the blanket cape with my favourite item, the jumper. This statement motif number from Whistles was the exact excuse I needed to do an all tonal outfit with the cape so added my Motel Rocks skirt and new Asos Sale fur into the mix too. To break up the fifty shades of grey I went for textured black bag and shoes.

Have you bought into the blanket cape trend? I think I might just have been won over!

Monthly Must Haves (August) - Amy

August out, Autumn in - another summer over far too quickly but oh my godddd the high street are hitting us left, right and centre with the most amazing new season pieces. I apologise for the Topshop-heavy post but after going back to work for a day last week, I've come away with so much inspiration and a wishlist as long as my arm, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many brands I just love but every AW (in particular), I'm reminded I'm a total toppers girl at heart:

Topshop Blanket Cape
if there is any piece you need to invest in this autumn, it's the blanket cape! even my mother turned up with one today. The perfect amount of snuggly chic for the chillier evenings

Whistles Stripe Voila Jumper
Oh Whistles, can I just have all of you please? I love this french slogan, stripy jumper so much

The White Pepper Bread Bag
How fun is this bag from The White Pepper? Add a playful twist to your wardrobe to brighten up your post holiday blues

Topshop Folk Print Coord (Top & Shorts)
Festival season might be almost over but festival styling doesn't have to finish. Update your folk prints with thick furs and layers galore.

Topshop Culottes
Cling onto the hope of wearing shorts a little bit longer by wearing er, shorts that are a little bit longer! Culottes are still huge and these boutique-y looking ones are the perfect autumn update.

Termite Eyewear Sunglasses
The most amazing sunglasses ever? Termite offer eco-friendly eyewear in a variety of wood finishes and lens tints so you can create your perfect pair.

Zara Pointed Boots
The slides have been packed away and the annual search for the perfect boot is over before it's even begun.

Topshop Shearling Coat
When it comes to tonal dressing, texture is key and this statement shearling coat is the ultimate piece.

Topshop Leopard Print Mini Skirt
All eyes on Cara? You can preview the new toppers collection online now - this leopard print pelmet skirt being my favourite item so far!

Monthly Must Haves (July) - Amy

I don't wanna sound ungrateful for the insane weather we've been having but oh my god, I am sooo excited for AW14. However much I love the sun, I love AW styling more and I am really loving all the new collections that have been launching. New season's always bring fresh waves of inspiration here are my favourite transitional pieves that are getting me all riled up for the cold (but can still be worn now)

It's safe to say that a full on obsession has occurred. Watch this space for a ways-to-wear, featuring this pastel number.

I cannot believe it's taken me so long to get a pair of mules. I spied these at the New Look AW14 Press Day and have been holding out ever since and I am so glad I did. At half the price of the Zara equivalent and ridiculously comfy, these really were worth the wait

I don't read beauty blogs all that much but even I haven't missed the hype surrounding these. I was gifted one at the #FFAwards Brunch and even though I'm no expert, they definitely seem to live up to expectations.

The shape of this jumper is divine and although the roll neck design gives off a snuggly appearance the crop means it can be thrown over a tea dress once the suns gone in. I sense mustard may be a fave this autumn.

I featured these in a blog post here and they really have been a must have for me this month. They are so easy to chuck on with just a black tee for a comfy AND stylish outfit come rain or shine and we're only £8! such a steal

The new denim colourways are out in toppers and I couldn't be happier! Jamie is my best friend when it comes to buying jeans and I've been looking for this exact 'not black but not grey' shade for a long time. Can I just live in them?

This picture does not do this justice! This cute, glittery thin knit jump reminds me of a similar one I had back in the 90's and would look amazing white a white collar and those jeans for an easy, everyday outfit

Summer's not over yet! The monochrome design means this can be carried all the way through to Autumn and beyond to remind us of happier times when it'll be snowing in September. Wear with a thick knit later on for an ironic AW look

I can't take it any more - every time I see this pop up on Instagram I question why I don't own it! What a statement bag!

I have recently invested in my first pair or designer sunnies and it seems I've caught a bug! These are definitely at the top of my wishlist.
