Inbetween all the tartan, pastel shades, dark florals and fluff coming through this AW, there is a clean cut, modern and understated trend where white, Metallics and pu take centre stage. I am usually one mad pattern clashing so this grown up trend is not one I am always desperate to wear myself but I can appreciate its slicker and more grown up approach to fashion - even I can agree, sometimes less is more

This changed when I found this dress on misguided.co.uk with its plain white jersey oversized body and pu cap sleeves. Simple and sleek alone but with endless outfit possibilities. For this look, I wanted to go for something very clean and textured to really show the dress off for what it was. 

I decided to pair this with a sleeveless tweedy blazer (thanks to my gorgeous friend Andrew, who's signature look is exactly the trend I am on about) the grey tweed provides the tone and texture I was looking for, the shape feels more modern than a boyfriend blazer and it being sleeveless means I can really emphasise the pu sleeves on the dress - the perfect match. I finished off with my sporty looking rucksack, a beanie and circular glasses for a more laid back approach to the outfit to compliment the smart jacket but couldn't resist a pop of colour (and another key trend) by twisting up the whole outfit by adding a tartan scarf.
