Pull Cord - Amy

Asos Cord Dress, Asos Roll Neck Top, Marks and Spencer Belt, Orla Kiely Box Bag, Topshop Velvet Boots

Of all the autumnal textures I've invested in this season, Corduroy is by far my favourite! Adding greatly to my 70's inspired a/w wardrobe, this soft, warming fabric is the ultimate in comfort dressing for me and the perfect material for the chillier weather coming in

As well as this brown cord dress featured here and here, this western style popper dress has been making frequent appearances out recently. Shirt dresses are amazing for layering anyway being able to add underneath and over the top as you please and this one is no exception! To give the cord the centre stage for this outfit though, I layered a striped roll neck underneath for just a pop of interest and focused in on statement accessories.

Have you cottoned on to the cord trend yet?

Starry Eyed - Amy

Asos Star Shirt, Asos Stripe Roll Neck Top, Topshop Button Down Skirt, Ray Ban Sunglasses, Topshop Magnum Boots

It seems like Stars are here to stay this season with the print taking the high street by storm in the last few weeks. To add to my ever growing collection, I had to have this incredible, show stopping blouse from Asos - orange is not a colour I'd usually jump at but this shirt just works and I adoreee it.

With the weather being a little bit hit and miss I have taken to layering light layers during the day and am loving a roll neck under a shirt, done up or open like this! Paired with the must have button up skirt and this is my go-to autumnal uniform.

How are your stars coming out this season?

Dorothy Perkins Style Heroes AW15

Naomi Wears - Roll Neck c/o Dorothy Perkins, Suede Skirt c/o Dorothy Perkins, Asos Crochet Jumper, Asos Knee High Boots

Amy Wears - Roll Neck c/o Dorothy Perkins, Geometric Skirt c/o Dorothy Perkins, Asos Suede Jacket, Topshop Magnum Boots

The high street's new season pieces are flooding in in full force now and Dorothy Perkins AW15 collection is particularly on point! We were asked to create some outfits around 2 of their Style Heroes for the season and to our absolute joy we were given the roll neck and the aline skirt - 2 of our own personal style heroes!

We both went for a combination of tan suede and burgundy - the perfect autumnal colour palette with a retro vibe - but Amy decided to go for a print clash whilst Naomi a mix of layered textures!

Which of these looks do you prefer? Head over to the Dorothy Perkins Instagram at @official_dorothyperkins to vote for your favourite and if either of us win, we'll have a £150 to give away to one of our lucky readers!

We're All Someone's Daughter - Amy

Star Print Blouse c/o Monsoon, Mustard Shorts c/o Monsoon, Florian Bag, Asos Reward Star Boots

When it comes to Autumnal boho, Monsoon's new capsule collection (designed by founder Peter Simon's daughter, Jessica) is your one-stop shop. Ditsy prints and delicate embroidery feature heavily and all the pieces are perfect for layering through the colder months whilst reminding you of summer fun - we adore the whole collection!

I am loving star print this season so went for this gorgeous navy blouse, which is a really subtle way to do this statement print, and the mustard shorts to go with. With these being a really warm, autumnal take on primary colours I thought I'd go for the set of 3 and add red details into the mix too to pull the look together!

Zigazig Ah - Amy

Asos Zig Zag Jumper, Zara Geometric Trousers, Marc Jacobs Sunglasses c/o Red Hot Sunglasses, Next Faux Fur Bag, Clarks x Orla Kiely Dotty Shoes

It's no secret that I love a stripe but for AW we are literally shaking our stripes up a little! The zig zag seems to be all over the high street at the moment in seventies boho styles but it's carrying on into the new season too. I'm sorry to say I have already started on my new knitwear (even if it is August!) and this Zig Zag jumper from Asos is my absolute faveee - the colours are so fun but spot on for the chillier weather approaching and the modern/retro vibe slots in with the rest of my wardrobe perfectly

Not ever being content with just one jazzy pattern, I decided to go as bright as possible with yellow patterened trousers and bought it all the autumal texture with the faux fur bag and pony hair Orlas

Have you seen any zigzags that have spiked you attention this season?

These Boots Are Made For Walking - Amy

Asos Stripe Roll Neck Jumper, Asos V Neck Dress, Ray Ban Sunglasses, Topshop Belt, Asos 'Reward' Star Boots

Summer may not be over but we're already thinking about swapping our Birks to our Boots. Black, heeled ankle boots are my go to shoes for any occassion so it's no wonder I fell completely in love with these statement boots from Asos - nicely inspired by Tommy Hilfiger and at just a fraction of the cost of the real deal!

With this ridiculously chilly weather, it's no wonder I'm pairing by boots with knits in Autumnal August but layering with simple dresses and bare legs to keep a very slight summer vibe going on. The black block allows the boots to do most of the talking (and walking) but keeps a little bit of colour on show for interest.
