Lace Up - Amy

White Jacket c/o Pretty Little Thing, Led Zeppelin T-shirt c/o Truffle Shuffle, Topshop Grey Check Shirt, Topshop Jamie Jeans, Fedora c/o Pretty Little Thing, Ray Ban Wayfarer c/o Asos, Primark Leopard Print Bag, Topshop Jolie Boots

In hindsight, I should really be calling this Embroidered Up but hey ho, lace isn't really my thing so this was the happy compromise for one of this season's biggest fabrics. I love seeing how other people style beautifully statement lace pieces and there are some incredible pieces around n about at the moment but for those of you who like the look of less lace, this is the jacket for you.

This white 'embroidered' jacket from Pretty Little Thing is the perfect amount of delicate texture without the dainty florals. The geo-esque design is a lot more me but I still felt the need to toughen up the look with a check shirt, band tee and black jeans. I love a good contrast and the white lace vs monochrome rock look has to one of my faves.

How would you wear white lace?

Femme Fatale - Amy

Primark PU Biker Jacket, Topshop Oversized Grey Check Shirt, Topshop Boutique Jersey Dress, Primark Lace Cami, Primark Pink Fur Stole, Primark Jewel Necklace, Topshop Heart Patterned Tights, Topshop April Chelsea Boot

It was amazing to shoot with Naomi again! I was obviously a little over excited as I haven't had this many elements to an outfit in so long.

Topshop have launched new trend 'Chateau Femme' and this outfit was based on the key pieces for this :) I am obsessed with this Topshop Boutique Jersey Dress at the moment! I've actually worn it backwards to make the most of the wrap over detail and its the pyjama influences from the trend that meant the silk and lace cami was perfect to go underneath.

For a dressed up look with overly girly touches, I went for a light pink fur stole, jewel necklace and heart design tights but to tone it down into more of a day outfit, I went for a neutral coloured check shirt, leather jacket and flat black boots :)

Some Kind Of Love - Amy

'Some Kind Of Love' Slogan Tee c/o Feather Hearts BUY HERE!, Topshop Sleeveless Check Shirt, Topshop Charcoal Midi Dress, Topshop Circular Lens Sunglasses, Boohoo Studded Clutch Bag, Topshop American Flag Socks, Topshop Aubrey Cut Out Boots

Even though the whole point of our blog is showing how we wear the same trends differently, I love it when me and Naomi are given the exact same item to play with to see what we do with it :) This slogan tee from Feather Hearts was certainly perfect for this challenge as it powerful enough to make a really show of but simple enough that we could both mould it to our own style to create our outfits :)

I have raved about how much I love a slogan tee and how much FH is definitely my go to place when I'm in need of a new one and quite frankly, nothing's changed. The boxy shape tee over bodycon a dresses has been my go-to/easy peasy/ no thought required outfit over the summer so I thought this would be the perfect way to show off the tee. I've tweaked it to transitional by wearing a thick jersey midi dress and a check shirt for an extra layer on top. No outfit of mine is complete without some form of colour coordinating sock and a cut out boot, and I matched the gold detailing on the boots to this amazing clutch from Boohoo to finish off the look.

Hearts and Crafts - Amy

Topshop Oversized Check Shirt, Primark Floral Dress, Forever 21 Hat, Freedom for Topshop Eagle Necklace, Topshop Acid Wash Denim Gilet, Topshop Amelie Boots

Prepare yourself - this is just the second of what I expect to be many outfits of festival move on trend 'The Craft'. There are so many ways you can play around with this trend and plenty of twists and tricks you can use to really suit your own style preferences.

I love layering, especially shirts and collars under and over dresses and both of these pieces are perfect for this trend so I jumped at the chance to use them, and thought what better than together! The colour pallette is bright enough to be light and summery without being too heavy, but I've stuck to black and silver accessories to keep the gothic/transitional vibe to the outfit :)

Punk's Not Dead - Amy

Vintage Check Shirt via Rokit, Topshop Pearl Crop Top, Topshop Boutique Silk Shorts, Topshop Lace Trim Cycling Shorts, Topshop Belt, Anne Summers Fish Net Tights, Topshop Aubrey Boots

I never, ever thought I'd say that I have used (current day) Madonna as fashion inspiration - but that just goes to show that inspiration appears in the strangest of places! It was hard not to take inspiration from the punk theme Met Ball a couple of weeks ago as the star studded bash was full of incredible and unlikely outfits and there is nothing I like more than seeing people push their boundaries with their wardrobes and get involved in a theme even if it isn't necessarily they're signature style.

This is definitely not an outfit that I would wear to a ball, punk themed or not, but the idea was to have a more glamorous take on grunge. I've been looking for an excuse to blog last Christmas's 'it' top from Topshop, but with a more updated/non seasonal look and this seemed perfect. I've worn the shirt over the top (tucked the collar in so it looks cleaner and less casual) and belted it with a leather belt so it gives me a figure, rather than open and oversized, which again, looks more grown up.

I chose to keep the rest of my outfit solid black, as to not distract from the gorgeous pearls or the punk element of the check, so decided to play with textures rather than pattern, colour or print. The silk shorts tie in with the more glamorous feel to the outfit and combined with the lace trim cycling shorts (underneath) and the fish nets definitely says sexy rather than scary. No outfit of mine is complete without a black boot, so I chose my black cut out Aubrey to tie in with the gold buckle of the belt.

Who was your 'Best Dressed' from the Met Ball?

Bat For Lashes - Amy

Dress c/o Lashes Of London, Topshop Check Skirt, Naomi's Sunglasses, Primark Clutch Bag, Topshop Aubrey Boots, Rokit Vintage Denim Jacket

After the Nicole Levy Press Day we attended a couple of weeks ago, I have become nothing short of obsessed with Lashes of London. It's rare that I find a brand that really ties in with my own personal style but as soon as I saw cut out bleach denim dungarees and unicorns on one rail, I was completely hooked.

This dress is definitely one of their more understated pieces (though not losing brand identity with the incredible heart clasp cut out) which in turn makes it so easy to play with. I have a habit of turning going-outy bodycon into my daywear (and wearing old tees and denim shorts at night time, oops!) and this was easily achieved with just throwing a trusty check shirt over the dress. For a smarter look, I have worn the same check shirt underneath the dress so you just get the collar and the check detail through the amazing cut out.

I have of course really stuck to myself in this outfit with the denim jacket and heeled boot but I'd pretty much wear this with anything from a blazer to Vans making it probably the most versatile LBD I have ever owned without being too basic to start with.

Watch this space for Lashes collab with Topshop coming to the Oxford Street Flagship soon - and when I say watch this space, literally this one as after being so happy with this dress, I will probably own half of it

Railroad - Amy

Topshop Crochet Crop Jumper, Topshop Sleeveless Check Shirt, Topshop Floral Cord Dungarees, Topshop Belt, Topshop Ant Boots

All aboard! Welcome to my interpretation of Topshop's latest trend, 'Railroad Revival', the trend that just keeps on, well, reviving. You always know Summer's fast approaching (not fast enough I know) when Topshop starts to bring out 'festival-friendly' product, i.e denim and check shirts, lace bandeaus and the hottest of hot pants, all of which play a big part in this trend. However my favourite thing about this trend, is it can be worn all year around. Mix those textures, layer up, layer down, dig out those old pieces you forgot you had, chuck a shirt over it and you are good to go.

When putting this outfit together, my main focus was clashing textures and have gone for cord, crochet knit and flannel - traditionally more Autumn textures but as the weather improves so will my Spring wardrobe by using lighter fabrics and pastel tones.

Dungarees and check shirts may be a bit predictable for a railway inspired trend but the floral design on the jumpsuit gives the look a less traditional feel and evenly weights the balance between tomboy and girly girl in contrast with the check shirt. The jumper was for warmth more than anything but separates the clashing patterns and adds another layer of interest.
