Amy's Week In Style

Well isn't this long over due! I'll cut to the chase and just get to the clothes but apologies that this is the first in a long while! I've gone dress insane recently - I don't know if it's the bare legged weather, the throw on and go practicalities of a statement dress or my graciously changing body shape ;) but I just can't get enough! I've thrown in a couple of other pieces for good measure though :) I hope everyone has been enjoying the sunshine and making the most of their summer wardrobes! It'll probably snow next week so make it count :)

1. Topshop Leather Dress

I am doing everything I can to find an excuse to spend £175 on this stunning leather t-shirt dress but alas, I need to win the lottery!

2. Topshop Boutique Silk Shirt Dress

I have however treated myself to this divine pink utility style shirt dress. It's 100% silk so feels stunning to wear, blush pink is going to be huge this AW (check out Naomi's 'In The Pink') and the oversized shape means it'll suit everyone. Watch out for this in a post soon :)

3. Topshop Leather Panel Jersey Dress

As if I didn't have enough grey jersey Topshop dresses! But this is a nice compromise from 1. And just as stylish and easy to dress up and down as you please with trainers or a heel

4. Cos Peter Pan Collar Dress

Already preparing for Autumn, I have totally fallen for this girly Cos number. As I said, I love a Greg dress and this needs to be part of my collection 

5. Topshop Monochrome Grid Dress

This dress has a silky feel to it but at £38 is a total bargain. Monochrome is set to stay around for AW and this dress is a perfect transition as it looks amazing on its own now, but I'm excited to layer it with a collar and opaque tights later on in the year :) if the dress isn't for you, check out the equally as amazing cropped shirt in the same design!

6. Topshop Animal Neon Dress

Same as 5 really! Animal print is also set to be huge in the up and coming season so why not start now but in summery colours?

7. Topshop Knitted Lace Detail Crop

I love this corally colour that's around at the moment and this crop has the perfect girly edge with the lace hem. Again, perfectly transitional being cropped and knitted. I'd wear this over a black maxi dress to suit pretty much every weather and occasion. 

8. Topshop Fluffy Tee

AW is always all about the texture and I have fallen in love with this fluffy tee! It's so cosy looking :)

9. Topshop Aran Knit Cardigan

AW staple - get it now to make the most out of it! But beware of over wearing, they're literally addictive 

10. Topshop Bib Blouse

I found one of these for a fiver in the Topshop sale a couple of weeks ago! And I'm expecting most elements of this shirt to come back in in the next few weeks. What a find!

11. Converse

Everyone's favourite trainer is still going strong and seeing as my white ones have been torn to shred, I've purchased a pair in this season must have colour - pink. Classic shoes but in seasonal colours are always guaranteed to be worthy of those hard earned pennies.

In The Pink - Naomi

H&M Dress, Topshop Skirt, Topshop Sandals, Zara Clutch, Topshop Premium Necklace, Amys Sunglasses

After reading Vogues supplement 'The Catwalk Edit' this week I have been desperate to try out some of the new A/W trends in a transitional way! The trend that I am enjoying is the all pink tonal look named 'A Rose Bouquet' and is described:

'From the palest pinks to dusky damask hues designers drenched the collections in a warm rosy glow. An overtly feminine flattering palette, head to toe rose tones offer a beautiful spin on autumns pre-

Wear pink slinky shapes and sillhoutes to look on trend over the next few months and get ready for pink coats and jackets to take over this winter! It looks pretty and fresh and almost like we are heading into spring rather than A/W which makes a nice change to the dark and gloomy wintery trends. 

A softer more feminine take on earlier trend of the year 'All White Dressing' which often was more of a tailored, premium and more masculine outcome. All pink is still premium but with a girly softer edge to it. Pastel pinks are are not everyones cup of tea, I usually steer clear of the girly pastel colours but when worn right and in a tonal way the outcome is stunning and right up my street for A/W- I just need to buy more pink items now!

I wanted my look to be summery and premium- I pulled all my pink items out of my wardrobe to see if I could make it work! The dress is old H&M and I tucked it into my skirt. I love the feminine shape of the top section with the cross over and shoulder ruching. The skirt which is making a huge come back for next season especially this full skirt which is from Topshop. I find the style of these skirts extremely flattering and easy to wear! The two pink items work well together, they are nearly the same shades but just different textures which adds interest. I accessorised this look with silver- a chunky silver premium necklace, skinny black belt and holographic clutch which I absolutely LOVE! Amy's pink sunglasses worked well for the glorious weather and the barely there sandals added to the premium feel.

Dark Craft - Amy

So just as the summer decides to show up, in fashion world we're kind of over it because AW looks too exciting and with product also starting to hit high street stores (fluffy topshop crombies! LOVE) it's hard not to be tempted in early! The good thing about lots of these up and coming trends is that they can be very transitional and flexible to whatever weather we are being graced with from day to day

Here is my first go at what's definitely set to be my favourite trend this Autumn - Dark Craft. Gothic florals, embroidery, fringing, kimonos, witchy boots and tonnes of lace - right up my street. For a more summery look, just use these elements with creams and whites rather than blacks as there will be plenty of opportunity to play around with the darker side of this trend as the nights get longer. 

This jumper was a sale purchase about 2 years ago and is guaranteed to come back into fashion every year, it's one of the best staple yet statement pieces I've ever bought! It may be a knit but it is extremely thin so more than comfortable enough to wear in the summer on cloudier days, especially with a light blouse underneath like I have here, which I have purely worn for the collar detail which goes perfectly for the gothic feel without the black and compliments the jewellery

To inject some colour, I went for these amazing trousers that I got on Asos for £13, what a bargain! Again, a piece that are light enough to wear in summer with a tank or crop top yet will see me all the way through til October/November time - practically and fashionably. The florals add to a more summery twist in the outfit and I played this up even more by wearing the floral headband

Dark Craft - Naomi

Can you believe we are already talking A/W.... Especially with the heat wave thats gracing us this weekend! But this is the perfect time to get your head in the A/W trends and start updating your wardrobe. Grab the fashion magazines which are covering all the trends and the best product on the high street.

Witchy and craft influences always come around during the colder season with lace, denim and leather being key. Since festival took over the high street this summer we have all been wondering whats next and by the looks of the high street over the past week it's turning dark! The summer festival look that was washed out and pretty has toughened itself up for winter with leather, black lace, distressed denim and a darker colour palette. This is the perfect trend for the transition into winter as it's wearable now and can be layered up when it gets colder. 

I have gone for a dark almost gothic look which is all about clever layering! The dress is Zara and I absolutely adore the lace. It comes with a slip underneath but I like to wear it with shorts to show of the lace more. I wore leather shorts underneath and layered my Nasty Gal cut out bralet over it which I think looks amazing layered over the lace and softens the S&M style bralet. I wore my new hat from Forever 21 which I love, the shape is dramatic and has cute little stud detailing on the back, I also wore a jet black necklace from Accessorize and finished off with my Topshop black boots.

Garden Party: Part 2 - Amy

So I thought it was about time I got my second Garden Party installment to you all! As I said before, florals are my go to for any summery look but rather than getting too fancy with layers, I decided I wanted to play around with just one focal piece for this outfit - the shoulder cut out dress.

This floral print was huge last summer, and worked so well Topshop have resurrected it in the form of a skater skirt this season. Shoulder cut outs are still going strong so even though this dress is last years, it fits very comfortably into SS13 and is interesting enough to use as a centre piece, but with just about enough room to have some fun with accessories to liven it up even more for that really ootd party look :)

This dress is gorgeous dress is perfect to throw on during the day but for a party, more is sometimes more and I wanted the skirt to be fuller so simply put the tutu underneath to get my dream party dress. I then chose a statement necklace, that wouldn't be too ootd against the pattern of the dress. The colours that shine on the necklace in certain lights pick out the pale pinks in the sunglasses, shoes and flowers on the dress so all tie in together nicely. For an added girly pastel colour, I went for lilac socks. The white frill detail also match to the belt and tutu to keep the outfit lightly outlined :)

It wouldn't be an outfit of mine without something to rough it up a bit so I finished with my oversized denim jacket from Rokit - the perfect contrast to all the girly bits.

Wimbledon Whites - Naomi

Fashion and style are influenced heavily by everything going on around us- the queens jubilee influenced tea party trends to saw across the high street and Wimbledon is no different with 'Wimbledon Whites' being the unwritten fashionistas order of play this year!

Maybe not the most practical colour for sitting on Henman Hill and eating strawberries and cream but all white dressing looks clean, premium and slick and perfect for that tailored look for Wimbledon. I am going tomorrow and have been playing around with outfits since seeing various Wimbledon Whites post over the last week and felt it was the right way to go... It's not only Murray that has a tonal dress code to stick to!

Let's talk white! Pay way was on Friday which means I have new sparkly items to play with. I love this blazer from H&M the grid print was something Topshop heavily brought into over AW12 and I think it's so wearable and easy to mix up with other monochrome prints. Yes it has black on it but I think this adds a little bit of detail and interest to a tonal look and I wore Black Sandals to balance the black. Underneath the blazer I wore a H&M white shirt dress which was in the sale for £7 a very easy piece to wear and i'm sure it will come in handy. The dress looks great under the blazer with a skinny belt. I went for silvery accessories adding this amazing holographic clutch from Zara which I spotted on a few blogs recently and fell in love with! Statement clutch bags are perfect for clean looks like this and add some interest. Finally finishing off with a chunky silver chain, adding these simple current accessories make the look feel younger and cooler. What do you guys think of all white dressing?
